Planeset [version 1.5.3 released 2006-10-24]
Moderator: Graphics Moderators
planespeed fixes the speed-up-while-broken-down bug.
Yes, it's possible to code the planeset to load with planespeed off. If 459 wants to pull the offending sprites, I can't prevent that, but I'm not going to do it unless someone can explain to me why planespeed off is preferable to planespeed 1, why I should put several hours into making MakeRcosts deal correctly with planespeed off, and why 459 should spend however long it will take him to balance yet another planespeed setting.

Planespeed off is not preferable to planespeed 1, you are technically correct. It's just that planespeed off is a more common setting, and if we require it, we will get all sorts of "Why won't the planeset work for me" posts.

And that's why I'm making all this noise about setting planespeed 1 if you currently use planespeed off.
Besides, there will be a nice error message that appears if you try to load it with planespeed off: "The Planeset is designed to be used with planespeed 1..4 or planespeed on". Ditto on the check for newplanes ("The Planeset is designed to be used with newplanes on"), and the version check ("The Planeset requires at least TTDPatch version 2.0.1 alpha 42")
Try loading the USSet with newtrains off, and you'll see how it works.

I couldn't download it either. Probably has something to do with the board. ttdgraphics.cjb.net doens't work so I couldn't post it there either.

Cool. I wish it were possible to include it in the set, but there aren't enough slots. Maybe someday that limit will be removed, and then, for sure it will be included.

Well, I'd thought about doing a Russian aircraft set someday, these would work nicely in that.

459: Not sure if you got my EXE & NFO; I re-uploaded them in the same place

Not really. They still have to have the same: introduction date, reliability decay, vehicle life, model life, price, speed, acceleration, running cost, refit cost, and size (S/L/H).George wrote:Why not to use several planes on the one slot? You can select with refit.
