Gremnon's Patch Pack (GPP, r18413)

Re: Gremnon's Patch Pack (GPP, r18413)
So far, it's promising. But since the Daylength thread has a bug reported about industries closing down too quickly, I'll wait until that's bee fixed first.
Re: Gremnon's Patch Pack (GPP, r18413)
I'm not sure, but it looks quite hard to keep up-to-date. I got tons of rejects over a couple of hundred revisions.
Re: Gremnon's Patch Pack (GPP, r18413)
Against trunk or CargoDist?
GPP builds will always be against trunk, but at a revision that CargoDist was also at. Mainly because I prefer to keep it to a revision known to work. That may have something to do with it, since I haven't updated my copy of trunk-cargodist for a while.

You can find MSVC binaries at the project downloads page. You can also find Linux Generic binaries built with GCC.

Good news! I can now compile using MSVC, which means that there will be crashlogs! Check the site for new builds...
Edit: Something messed up... You'll have to wait until tommorow.

Re: Gremnon's Patch Pack (GPP, r18413)
Untill today, I was still playing on the previous revision (r17856M) because I saw that it's not possible loading the saved games on the new one, and i didn't want to abandon one of the maps i was playing for a while. but today i wanted to start a new game on the current revision. i didn't noticed on the list, but,... Signals in tunnels and bridges is missing!!! Why!?!? ...so i abandoned the new one. I'm realy sorry cuz cargodis is very interesting and nice to play with, but the old revision is much more complete i think.

Actually, I'm not sure about why that is missing, it may get put back in later, you'll have to wait for Gremnon to tell you why.
Re: Gremnon's Patch Pack (GPP, r18413)
You know, a simple question asking me would have done the trick.
At the time I compiled the last version of the patch, there were numerous conflicts and errors.
When (The new year) I make the new version, I will check again, and see if those conflics and errors are still there.

It seems Gremnon hasn't been around for a while, so nothing at the moment.Sensation Lover wrote:What's new?

Re: Gremnon's Patch Pack (GPP, r18413)
Alright, I figure I owe people an explanation, even a late one.
I don't have the time available any longer to work on OpenTTD, let alone maintain or update this pack. I haven't kept up with what's happened in OpenTTD development for a long time, and many of the patches in this pack, I fully expect no longer to apply cleanly, or to conflict with changes in other patches, etc.
That said - I *might* be changing jobs soon, and I might even be able to get more time at a computer. However, it'll be a long while before I get into custom builds, patching, source code wizardry (which I never was much good at anyway), and when I do, I can't guarantee any precompiled builds, because my system has changed a great deal since then.
(Namely, I use Arch and Fedora Linux, and Windows Vista, in a combination of 32 and 64 bit systems. They all break regularly due to my fiddling.)
I might eventually revisit this, I might create a new pack, but for now... I'm afraid I have to say, consider this one zombified until then.
Sorry folks.

Thanks for the explanation. I hope the best for you as I hope one day you come back with a great GPP and surprise us all... The hope is the last to die
