Playable GRF released? Hmm...

Well this is just to say we now have A60-62 stock, C69-77 stock and D78 stock, meaning we have all current surface stock modelled.

Now as soon as JVassie finishes the NFO files, we should be able to release a gtf :)

yes, is a great work this project
maybe also a tubestations.grf will be cool, especially if one day will be possible to build stations underground

or maybe a "spaccato" (i don't know how is in english) of the station like this but in ttd prospective: http://www.linea6.com/image/sp03.jpg which shows part of the subterranean station

Not sure if its what is in the main map but he screeny for the heathrow bit (on page 1 of this thread) has the piccadilly line going anti clockwise through terminals 1,2,3 and then terminal 4.. When in actual fact it loops clockwise around here.

And I am sure you guys are aware terminal 4 is actually shut until Semptember as they are tunneling through to terminal 5..

Seems like a great project guys! Will love to see the final masterpiece.

Oh dear, yes Cougar you are correct the Heathrow section is clockwise, having said that i have noticed its been built anti-clockwise. So we have to sort that out.
In this version we have decided to have trains still running the loop.

In other news I've discovered a few problems with the trains, so production is delayed.

Ah glad I could be of assistance.. also are you aware of the kennington loop on the northern line..

"When the Northern Line's West End branch was extended south to join the original City and South London railway's line at Kennington in 1926 a loop was constructed at Kennington to enable southbound trains to be turned northbound without the driver having to change ends. This loop is still in use today to reverse trains, diverging from the main line just south of the station and burrowing under the main line to Oval and rejoining the northbound Charing Cross line just before re-entering Kennington station's platform 1.

This new extension of the Charing Cross line resulted in the closure of the old Terminal Loop of the former Charing Cross, Euston and Hampstead Railway at Charing Cross which had been built in 1914 when the line was extended there from its former terminus at Strand (confusingly originally also called Charing Cross). This "new" Charing Cross station on the Terminal Loop still exists as the sharply curved northbound platform at what is now the Northern Line's Embankment station."

That was taken from http://www.londonrailways.net/ghost.htm

And when i did an image search I came across this website also

http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropol ... tions.html

It has a image of the kennington loop and quite a few other station maps :)

Thank you for the websites!!

I looked at the map of Kennington and found out that is exactly how we constructed it, it seems the Northern Line builder is quite knowledgable.

Looks by looking some stations need redoing. Thank you for your continued help and interest!!

From the desk of TTT

Ladies, Gentlemen and those who cannot be considered human.

The Through the tube team is officially unveiling its new, mind-blowing and time consuming project and it is coming to a computer screen near you. But we need your help.!! This project is so amazingly cool it will prove once and for all that the team has absolutely nothing else to do with their lives, which is of course, 100% true.
Furthur to the London Underground project we plan to create, design and build all the Subway and Rapid transport systems that you all wanted to see and play with but were generally just too bored to do yourself. Once you download the maps, bring your friends around, make a day of it. Or even invite your family along. You could, if you really wanted, with a very smug look tell all your friends you made it, then of course we would send the boys round and hit you a bit with baseball bats.
With these amazingly cool maps you never need to visit the cities again, just buy a few souvenirs from ebay and load up the map it'll save a lot of money on holiday costs.
The project will be called either ORWM, OREM or REMO. We dont really mind..we will pick a final name at some point. For those who wonder it means "Openttd Replication (of) World Metro" or "Openttd Replication (of) European Metro and of course, my idea "Replication of European Metro (for) Openttd"
The title will be the core project title, and within that will be the individual project titles such as Through The Tube, Over the Tyne, Clockwork Orange e.c.t e.c.t
The Current Line up is:

LU version 1 and discussion of version 2
Clockwork Orange
Paris Metro

Others will be added as soon as we get feedback

We really need your help!!! If you want to help in any of the games contact existing team members and you'll have the chance to head one of the projects..think of the power!!

So, if you understood none of that, i achieved my goal.

Peace Out !!

Goodbye to your summer holidays, and A levels. Hope you can still find time to come to LAN parties though!

That is one hell of a large undertaking (awful pun there, sorry). However, although they will be useless companies in themselves, that will be bloody impressive! I look forward to the public releases of the Through the Tube games - and any future Underground maps.

I shudder to think of all the work you'll have on your plate's when the new Map Array comes out, and the maps made by then will be obselete... :? Still, they'll be much more efficient companies at that point.

Indeed good bye A Levels. If we dont get any other team members its likely we'll make them on a rotational period instead of working on them all at the same time.
Course we'd have summer holidays and other half terms to do it in.

The first version of TTT may be out sometime next week.

Anyway some more screenies for you.

Hehe, that would be because we let the game play long past 2080 so the towns could gro, then in singla player the map was put back to the more sensible time of 1950 so we could see the train graphics properly and start sensibly.

The map will be 512*512 and coming to a screen near you soon!

/me holds up a sign that says "Northern Line Builder" :p

Thanks anyway.

Also, I know this isn't Europe, but how about Boston, MA subway system?
'Tis quite fun. Elevated railways, subways, tramlines that run in tunnels.

lol, not in the least modest.
We could do Boston, although not European it could be fun, and i believe you said there is a Boston graphics set going on at the moment. Which is useful.

If you do the paris metro will that include the RER?

and when can we get our hands on this one?

I voted for the bottom one on the poll cause it shouldn't just be europe you do. There are some great metro systems outside of europe that should be considered
