Container Freight station and harbor

Well, I drew: empty > some trucks > more trucks > full
That should be enough.

The only problem I can think of is that currently there is no way to choose between docks as you do with stations; so passenger docks might look odd plenty of trucks.
However, you can draw the sprites, and maybe someday, we will be able to choose dock types too!

Yup, for the moment, only a direct sprite-replacement will be possible. No reason not to work on the extra sprites though, could be used as a station tile (Dummy dock tile maybe), or kept until patch functionality exists for implementing the loading stages.

The only problem I can think of is that currently there is no way to choose between docks as you do with stations; so passenger docks might look odd plenty of trucks.
I was thinking about this too. For now, I could mix the passenger cars and cargo. So when you are building a dock for the passengers, you could assume that all crates on the dock are passenger's belongins as well as supplies for the ship. And vice versa, for a cargo dock, player should think that all the cars belong to the dock workers.

For example, different stages could be repesented this way:
1. Empty
2. 1 passenger car, forklift, some crates
3. 2 passenger cars, forklift, crates and a container
3. 3 passenger cars, 1 truck, forklift and 2 containers.

After I am done with these and US Road bus stations, I'll do separate docks for cargo and passengers.

Now we need someone to code a 2nd version of the Harbor & Containers station + Switchyard. When I finished the Switchyard I asked Oracle, but one hasn't seen him since...

Hi! I'm back (for more info on my whereabouts over the last few months, see the post that I'll make in another thread in a bit) and yes, I should be able to code some stations soonish - no time-related promises though!
If you could give me a concise summary of what needs doing then that would be really helpful.

Yay! He's back! :D You must be the most needed coder. 've seen 'let's wait till Oracle is back' so many times...

And sorry for only seeing you as a tool to make GRFs, I didn't mean that. :P

Welcome back onboard, Oracle!
Studies sometimes take a lot of time. But it's nice to be away for a period of time sometimes. It gives you noew forces and will.

here is the file I posted with all the new graphics and the instructions for coding. There are a lot of new graphics for harbor and container station; and there are also graphics for a switchyard.

Since the number of elements has grown, I thougt that this time it would be necessary to split Harbor from Container Freight Station in the station selection menu. This makes the options:
>Harbor
>Container Freight Station
>Switchyard
However, you have the last word. You might even think that it's better to make 3 sepparate GRFs... I don't know.

The Switchyard maybe somehow confusing, ask me if you have any doubts or problems coding it.

Lancelot is drawing new matching docks for the set, but I don't know if they can be coded as part of the set itself, or have to be a sepparate GRF...

I feel stupid having to ask this... but How do you make the train stations like that, where they are un even Not square, and use other not track tiles? Every time I try to make a station like that it tells me Its too close to another station. Is there some switch I can turn off to fix that or something?

Is there still the pissiblity of adding some extra graphics to this set? For example: grain silos, oil tanks, etc.

Actually there is developement for a new industrial stations set covering all possible cargos here:

I have stopped developement a lot these months, but I promise to come back with renewed energies :D

Though if you DID replace the dock's sprites using Action A, ALL docks would be like this, not just the one near the train station.
