Photo Of The Month - February 2012 Voting
Hey all!
Well, this is challenging. I forgot that when uploading to the forum, there's no image URL for files. Or at least, not that I've ever been able to find. If anyone knows where the elusive image URL for uploaded files is, please let me know!
Right, I know Andel used a site and something to do this before but I haven't a clue how to do such so I'm afraid I'm having to use photobucket for now. Hopefully with time they'll be improved methods.
And here we go then. The first month of voting.
First of all, I'd like to thank all 11 people who entered this month. It is fantastic to see so much interest for this again and I really hope this makes a strong come back. Some amazing photos that really take me back to the years ago with the old POTM.
Everyone knows how this should work. Please vote for what you think is the best photo of February - Light and colour.
With 12 entries, this is looking to be a great start and I really hope I can make this go as smoothly as the previous organisers did.
Here are the entries - Click for higher res of the images.
Note: I hope no one is irritated by me uploading their photos via photobucket. The album is private and if requested, I can remove the photos once the voting is complete.
Good luck everyone and thanks for taking part
Voting will be available till the 7th of March. In the mean time, can all people entering consider a topic they would like to have next month encase their photo is the winner

You can copy and paste the file.php?whatever URL, but of course phpBB won't accept that in an [img] tag. I would suggest you should upload all the photos to the wiki, for the archive, and then you can link to them there.Geo Ghost wrote:Well, this is challenging. Hi Owen.
I'll look into that one when I get the time then. I think that's more or less what I was looking to do
Thanks for the info!

Two things...
Firstly, thank you all that have voted for me so far, I'm so pleased with the votes I've got.
Secondly, I have my photos copyrighted online for a reason and choose when I want to release them, so if you could, Geo, please remove the photobucket picture at the end of the contest. Ta.

No problem and understand. Shall do.Dave W wrote:Secondly, I have my photos copyrighted online for a reason and choose when I want to release them, so if you could, Geo, please remove the photobucket picture at the end of the contest. Ta.
I'll see if I can work out a better way of putting them up for next month that is a bit better and preferred by all.
Dave, if I can work out the tt-wiki like Owen suggested, are you ok for your entry to be there? Or would you mind to have it linked from flickr?

Owen, give Geo the tt-f potm ftp and email details - its no skin off my nose and if he has a DB, I'll help him sort out using Gallery and a watermark system.

Re: Photo Of The Month - February 2012 Voting
In light of this comment, I would suggest for future contests then that there be some sort of a clause that you agree to allow the photos to be kept on the forums (with appropriate attribution, of course) after the end of the contest. Otherwise, it seems a bit silly to potentially have a winning photo that we can't even show?Dave W wrote:Secondly, I have my photos copyrighted online for a reason and choose when I want to release them, so if you could, Geo, please remove the photobucket picture at the end of the contest. I'll have to reset the details to do that, I'll look into it. Ideally I would like to set up a SABRE-style wiki gallery I think, but I'll investigate that once I have time.andel wrote:Owen, give Geo the tt-f potm ftp and email details - its no skin off my nose and if he has a DB, I'll help him sort out using Gallery and a watermark system.
Well, that's handy. I'm sure that didn't use to work!Pyoro wrote:Actually, it does: *randomsmallattachment*

I've no problem at all if its on the forums, but P'bucket is different.
If you host on the forums I'm happy for them to stay.

Re: Photo Of The Month - February 2012 Voting
I've created a POTM February 2012 wiki gallery to collate the photos entered this month. Ideally in subsequent months photos can be uploaded directly to the wiki and linked to here - this way we'll always have a nice, easily accessible archive of all the wonderful photos people have contributed.
I've just included the username of photos uploaded on the wiki. If the authors of photos wish to add a description, copyright, or other information, feel free to log into the wiki using your TT-Forums username and password and edit the appropriate "File:" page for your photo to add that description. Please don't rename the photos themselves though, as that will break the gallery!

Right, we have a winner!
Congratulations to Andel for his fantastic photo. Let me know on your chosen theme as soon as you can
A huge thanks to all who entered. This looks to be a very promising start to something which will hopefully continue onwards into the future.
