Re: The airline game
Continued expansion across Scandinavia.
NAS has now opened routes to Copenhagen from Oslo and Stockholm - also linking the two latter destinations together.
Requesting another two addional Boeing 737's to operate this route between these three Scandinavian Cities.
One flight travelling Oslo-Stockholm-Copenhagen-Oslo and the other Oslo-Copenhagen-Stockholm-Oslo. Flights are to be 2-3 times daily for each leg of the journey.

Re: The airline game
I hate to say it, but I think the game has gone a bit sour. I'm getting bored of it and can't be bothered to add in all the new planes. There only ever seems to be two people playing at a time, and with the burdens of school I just don't have the time most days. Consider me out of the game. I will still look at the thread though. Geo Ghost, I think you would make a good updater (new planes, year changes( for this game. If you have any objections to my resignation, please speak up.

Thanks for the offer but I'll have to decline that as I have too much on my plate as it is right now and I'm not online that often.
Sorry.

Re: The airline game
How about this:
It is now 1982.
People are responsible for counting time, and using only realistic planes, themselves.
Any out-of-their-time planes will be vetoed.
Vote: restart and play cooperatively?

Re: The airline game
I vote that we restart and play co-op. How about a post-WW2 scenario where we start with two DC-3s? Just saying.

Re: The airline game
It is 1946 about 6 months after the End of World War 2 and Air Travel has taken off. A new operater for Britain has been started called British Overseas Aircraft Corporation (BOAC for Short). They base operations out of Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester.
They set up a number of Flights from all three Airports which operate wholly within the UK
From London/Heathrow:
Manchester, Cardiff, Isle of Man, Newcastle, Plymouth, Leeds/Bradford
From London/Gatwick:
Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh
From Manchester:
London/Heathrow, Isle of Man, Plymouth, Glasgow
All routes are operated by 2 Douglas DC-3's each.
BOAC Current Fleet:
24x DC-3's

@Buckethead: I don't know, here sounds quite convenient. I also don't want to have to login to yet another site to play this game.
@A321Pilot: We're playing co-op, right? So I suggest that we have a general purpose in mind.
First, let's establish international hubs.
My suggestions:
New York
London
Tokyo
New Delhi (minor)

Re: The airline game
By Co-op I thought it meant like a Large Airline Governing body (like IATA or ICAO) and each person owning a Seperate Airline all working together, with codeshare agreements and such.

Re: The airline game
I was thinking more of something like all of us running one airline together, like a board of directors.

Re: The airline game
Would it not be better with competition. Like I named the company BRITISH Overseas Aircraft Corporation. Would be wierd if a Airline with a certain country in the name sets up hubs in America and Asia. If there was a mod (like rdrdrdrd in the map game) which xontrolled both ICAO and IATA they could help the separate Airlines work together. Of course some woudn't work together to create a bit of Rivalry. Also if we had alliances like OneWorld or Star Alliance they airlines in each would work together more. Of course this is just a suggestion.
Also, sorry for any errors in this I'm on my Phone on the way to school.

Re: The airline game
Well, who said we have to name an airline after a country? We can call it International Airlines or something.
I'm in favor of one airline in which we all participate: the game doesn't get boring. For example, when we have our separate airlines, we all end up serving most of the same cities, and then not much else. If we have an one international airline, we can develop the hub-connecting roots and then expand the spokes.
As of now, we tried one game of 'separate'. How about we try one game of co-op and then see which is better?

Re: The airline game
I didn't mean it like it was a fight - I wanted to have the best game.
Okay, since we're doing co-op:
LIST OF HUBS
New York
London
Tokyo
Any others you can think of?

Re: The airline game
Okay, six hubs, one for each continent. That sounds reasonable.
So, I'll start.
With 4 DC-6s and one spare, a London - New York route has been started. The journey takes 11 hours one way. Planes operate in pairs, both directions simultaneously, with the following daily schedule:
DEPARTURE.......ARRIVAL
07:00................18:00
09:00................20:00
19:00................06:00
21:00................08:00
FLEET
5 DC-6

Re: The airline game
Should we restart this with a no-time-progression modern times scenario? Will anyone actually bother to join?
