I think ASLEF/RMT are taking the mick a bit with this one. And in the run up to Leeds Festival, too. Most of the folk who cram into TPEx services every day are suffering pay freezes or worse, and it's not as if train drivers are on the breadline, nor is it a 'high-risk' employment like it may have been 70years ago.

Everyone seems to be striking because of pay... 2.2% pay increase may not sound A LOT, but it a damn sight more than people realise...

Looking at this, the next strike would affest the Manchester Pride Festval, and also the Leeds festival, this looks like more traffic "oop nurf".
Very much a retired regular poster..... If you can say that

RMT withdrew their strike, it's actually only the ASLEF drivers who are striking.

They want the same 5% rise that a few other TOCs have accepted.

Hey come on, they want 2.2%?

With inflation at 5% that seems fair. Let's not 'race to the bottom' on wage rises, all we're all screwed.

I'd consider myself lucky to have such a well paid job if I were them...

They run a very high risk of alienating the public here, more so than strikes in years not far gone by.

When nobody else is getting a pay rise, what makes them special apart from the fact they hold a hammer above the head of thousands of innocent travellers.
