I fixed the link to the planeset on my site, I'll restore the database soon, so don't worry...
Now I can keep you up-to-date again about the stuff around the project, I finished 4 planes now, and they look pretty nice
The baddest is that I have to go to school and have more things next to this set, so it will take long before it is finished...

Good deal. It's nice to keep track.
I thought you had more planes defined as going to be present, to fill all those empty slots?
A couple of name spellings are a little off -
Caravelle (no capital V)
and deHavilland

but some rules for providing me with planes:
but some rules for providing me with planes:
- The planemaking is slow, a plane can take a while... (I think 1 plane every 2/3 weeks)
- You must provide links or info to:
- Stats, like: (cruising) speed, yoi*, seats
- Type off plane (universal, passenger or cargo)
- Loads off pictures that are usefull, planes are one off the most photographed things so there are enough.
- Always one website containing history (there is a lot on http://www.airliners.net)
- There can be much planes on the list, they will have a date added from now on containing the request date, so I can make them on que

Please don't take anything I am saying as criticism, after all you are doing almost all of the work.
I will suggest aircraft and provide you with the necessary information. As you say, airliners.net has most of what is required.

Here are aircraft that I think nobody can argue should be included. Probably they are already there, under different names, so graphic editing should be minor. There are about a million photos of all of these on airliners.net also.
Boeing 707 - 1957-1978
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=87
180 pax (average)
900km/h (average)
No need to worry about variants, one is enough.
Passenger and freighter both.
Boeing 727 - 1964-1984
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=89
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=90
130 pax (average between models)
865 km/h
Apparently they aren't converted into freighters much.
Note: Operating costs would be somewhat more expensive, if you can adjust this. They're cheap to buy but use a lot of gas.
Boeing 737 - 1967-2000
(This is sort of a composite of the 1st and 2nd generations.)
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=91
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=92
110 pax (average)
800 km/h
They don't seem to often become freighters either, do they? You might as well allow it though.
Boeing 737NG - 1997-?
(This is a composite of the new Next Generation 737s.)
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=95
140 pax (average)
Mach .785
The military has convertibles which can be used as partial or full freighters.
Boeing 747 - 1970-1991
(You already have the 747-400 listed, this is to represent the early ones.
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=97
450 pax (average)
900 km/h
All-passenger, combi, full freighter, basically every variant imaginable.
Boeing 757 - 1983-?
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=101
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=102
240 pax (average)
Mach .8
All configurations available.
Boeing 767 - 1982-?
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=103
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=104
280 pax (average)
850 km/h
Boeing 777 - 1995-?
http://airliners.net/info/stats.main?id=106
400 pax (average)
900 km/h
All configurations available.
I've kind of ignored the long-range variants since range is irrelevant in TTD. The passenger capacities, and the speeds, are a little on the low side; I put economical cruising speed not max cruising speed, and I chose a midrange passenger layout although the absolute max is bigger, sometimes a LOT bigger.
Does it take you 3 weeks to draw planes from scratch, or to modify existing TTD planes to your satisfaction?
I'll do McD and Airbus aircraft in a bit. Do we have room to include the Russian aircraft, or would that have to be a completely separate "Iron Curtain" set?

bwah, it does take 3 weeks from scratch, recolorings/addings should take a little shorter (I hope). In vacations that there are I hope to finish 1 a week, so thei'le be finished earlyer...
Thanks for the data, alltough: do we need to include all boeiings
I was going to finish SUD Caravelle today, but ttdp won't start...

Basically what I was intending to do, was to include all the aircraft that if you went to a major airport, you'd see. That means all Boeings, and most Airbuses and McDs. I think there's enough room for them all. I didn't actually include all Boeings when you consider all the variants - there are 7 models of 737, 4 or 5 of most of the others, a 720 which is a variant of the 707... endless parades of 'em. I simply picked the most representative one of each. Also, unlike the Airbuses, all the Boeing jets are quite different in appearance and performance. Many of the Airbus models are quite similar, so omitting one will be less noticeable. They are also harder to tell apart at the airport unless you really know what you're doing. All the Boeing planes look very different and you can't confuse them if you're at all familiar with them.
I expect to add the DC-8, DC-9/MD-80/90, and DC-10/MD11, for a total of 3 more Douglas/McD aircraft (in addition to the DC-3 you already have listed.
Also the Lockheed TriStar.
I'm not sure which Airbuses would make the cut.
