Basingstoke Train Station Revamed
Is it me or is this look disappointing, SWT are just revamping the ticket area but it really does not suit the building.

Re: Basingstoke Train Station Revamed
One can only hope it will look better in reality but by the looks of it I'm inclined to say it's a modern misfit.
Re: Basingstoke Train Station Revamed
Looks to me like the change will be on the left hand side of the "before" picture which is a bit of a brick-and-glass affair anyway... the pretty bit to the right is going to be more or less untouched - ie right of the clock.

I actually think it looks alright, I don't see what all the fuss is about tbh have you seen the rest of Basingrad?
Re: Basingstoke Train Station Revamed
It's not perfect, but at least it'll help the chronic congestion we get in the peak.
I have to say, trying to cram all the equipment into the temporary [portakabin] ticket office was quite amusing

Re: Basingstoke Train Station Revamed
Its a glass and steel addition, probably the most sympathetic thing you're going to get. At least they didn't go for a Stalinist concrete carbuncle!
Re: Basingstoke Train Station Revamed
At least it's not the reincarnation of the original Birmingham New Street!
