Greyscale Maps - any and all sources - post them here!

Post by Plastikman's #1 Fan »

So, I'm livid now. For the past hour, and many hours scattered throughout the past, I've been scrounging the internet for decent-resolution greyscale images to run through Mapgen. Currently I'm hunting for a New England-esque map, and have come up empty-handed. There seem to be no decent sources for greyscales, or any greyscales at all, that fit my needs.

So, both to help me with my project and to help others with the same problem (if there are any), please post all sources of decent greyscale maps here.

have you tried turning the images greyscale yourself?

if you have Gimp (or any other graphics tool like it) you can turn images to greyscale yourself.

@G-TANK-G: Well... good point, I could do that, since I have Paint Shop Pro, but the problem lies not so much in greyscale vs. color as it does in finding suitably-shaded relief maps.

@Walter: Thanks a ton!
