That tree is a part of that building and that building is elevated which might make you think so, or am I missing something?Kogut wrote:The tree is hovering above ground.

It is also for not-elevated things.Irwe wrote:That tree is a part of that building and that building is elevated which might make you think so, or am I missing something?Kogut wrote:The tree is hovering above ground.
Left: how it is (hovering)

Kogut, I think you're misreading the pictureKogut wrote:Left: how it is (hovering)

The trunk is the very thin (1px wide) brown/gray vertical line that already reaches the ground.

I always thought that trunk is wider near ground, not on the top. So that pointed thing is a dead branch?AndersI wrote:Kogut, I think you're misreading the pictureKogut wrote:Left: how it is (hovering)

I guess that depends on what kind of tree it is.Kogut wrote:I always thought that trunk is wider near ground, not on the top. So that pointed thing is a dead branch?

Re: Swedish Houses [Version 1.1 released 06/06/10]
One or two of my old houses from early versions had ivy growing on it but those houses were scraped in later versions. Havn't really though on adding more ivy covered houses but I might do. Not really common in Sweden with ivy growing everywhere.Kogut wrote:It looks great! And I think that variant or two for park would be great.

Indeed, more parks and I think 1 or 2 more squares couldn't hurt.Kogut wrote:And I think that variant or two for park would be great.
Re: Swedish Houses [Version 1.1 released 06/06/10]
Sorry for the long silence...
Anyway, here is a new version of Swedish houses: 1.4.2011 1.1.1
Changelog:
* Support for action 14
* fixed incorrect recolor callback that caused wrong colors to be displayed sometimes
* fixed incorrect house subtitute type for some some multitile houses
* updated graphics for several houses
* slightly reduced propability of high office buildings
Version requirements:
OpenTTD 1.0 or newer (1.1 is needed for the parameter gui)
or
TTDPatch nightly r2334 or newer
As you can see from changelog this is mainly just a small bugfix release, so different town types and other fancy new features discussed in this thread are not included yet. The new graphics that are mentioned can be seen at the picture above.
Download at this post(will be removed once Irwe updates the first post) or from Bananarama.
Source files for this and all the old versions are available at: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=939048#p939048

Mind that "orignal TTD" actually should read "base set" or along that line. It depends on that and possible static grfs which modify it.

Re: Swedish Houses [Version 1.1 released 06/06/10]
Thank you for the translation, it will be in the next version. We had some plans to ask for translations before 1.0 was released, but that never happened. And I agree about the "original TTD" issue, it might be better to just change it to on/off type setting, and not mention anything about base graphics. In general I am not fully satisfied with with setting texts, but I have been unable to come up with anything better so far.
I'll try to find what causes the error message. Most likely there is still something wrong with recolor callbacks, they were all wrong in the previous version, it is possible that I have missed something while fixing them.

Re: Swedish Houses [Version 1.1 released 06/06/10]
I've improved the general store used in FIRS, which Irwe drew originally.
The contrast is raised quite a bit. I also shifted some windows to purple, and fixed the roof shading.
Unfortunately, deep in the depths of time, someone wrote on the TTDP wiki that 'the light in TTD comes from the right', which isn't quite true. It comes from bottom right, and high up. This means most of FIRS and my other sets have been drawn with wrong shading. It also means I gave Irwe mistaken advice about Swedish Houses (sorry)
I've been correcting this slowly, and the store is one of those corrections
cheers,
Andy

Re: Swedish Houses [Version 1.1 released 06/06/10]
A small bugreport:
If I set the first parameter to 1, allowing original houses, then no Swedish houses are ever created before 1930 neither in the scenario editor when placing towns nor upon starting a new game. If I choose 1930 or later it works correctly, if I choose 1929 or earlier only original houses show up.
Though I'm not entirely sure that this is a Swedish Houses related bug and not a general OTTD bug or limitation. I seem to recall having similar issues with other house sets as well before but I wouldn't swear on it.

Re: Swedish Houses [Version 1.1 released 06/06/10]
G'day, if I could make a friendly suggestion, just wondering if in your next version it is possible to make the lifespan for town buildings longer, like 10 or 20 years?
