Indeed :-D - I silently updated the original. Thanks for adding.

Explanation: while continuing with writing the set I noticed that I better completely re-define all wagons - thus I needed a separate string for each; and the food wagon still re-used the OpenTTD string when I wrote the initial posting.

Thanks for all the translations so far and also the suggestions concerning the original English text. I shall add them this weekend :-)

Zephyris posted some nice sprites for coal wagons with somevariation and I'd like to use this opportunity to ask some general question on preferences:

The first line is all versions mixed, the following four lines the four different versions (where you may notice by close inspection that there's a slight variation in colour among the wagons of each of the four versions, too). Question: what's preferred, rather uniform trains and use different looks like in lines 2-5, using the different looks to simulate possibly a time progression, different wagon series? Or are mixed trains as shown in the first row nice? A combination thereof?

I believe the word you're looking for is adjective. (And save can be used as a noun anyway.)

Actually, safe is an adjective as it describes nouns, safely would be an adverb.

Just a slight update. OpenGFX+ Trains has undergone quite a bit refactoring of the code in the meantime. The visual changes are now that
- The bulk wagon shows different sprites for many cargos depending whether the wagon was built before 1970 or after that date (see screenshot below)
- Random wagon for coal has (temporarily) been removed. It will return, but the differences between the random wagons will be smaller; and then it will work for all cargos in a fashion like Zephyris showed above for the coal wagons.
- We added sprite support for a number of additional cargos thanks to the busy drawing of molace. Most noteworthy we have nice sprites for the scrap metal (bulk wagon) and farm supplies and vehicles (flatbed wagon).

You can configure via NewGRF parameter whether to only use the (re)new(ed) wagons or whether also to go with the default engines as well. This allows e.g. to use this set just to provide wagon support for all cargos of a game (e.g. a FIRS game) along with a train set which has insufficient support for them.

Feedback on quirks or even missing cargo support or other suggestions for enhancements and extensions will be greately appreciated.

People who would like to give it a shot, can get the newest version from the DevZone - wait for today 18:30h for the real thing [TM].

The guide by which I currently try to implement this set is found in the repository. It's subject to discussion change without notice, though :-)
