Re: Snow in Temperate Climate
There is, of course, a way to get temperate snow without a patch: just start a temperate game, cheatchange to arctic, wait until the snow has filled up, change back. Not too smooth though...
Anyway, I would like to see this patch working again.

Ok, here is the patch against r20510:
Don't forget to enable this patch: Advanced Settings -> Construction
Houses above snowline are arctic houses, trees under and above using arctic trees. Deativating snow in temperate or using variable snowline height leaves you with snowy houses xDDon't forget to enable this patch: Advanced Settings -> Construction

Re: Snow in Temperate Climate
Hi,
I wonder if you might consider making this patch a newGRF? I've looked into compiling etc., but it all seems rather too complicated for me...
I'd like to use the alpine climate patch, but the drawback with it is towns / cities right in the snow don't grow, and there are no food-producing industries... Hence something which just added snow to temperate would be great...
Many thanks,
Olly.

Re: Snow in Temperate Climate
Is it possible to make the snow appear and dissapear?
Say it comes down to a random level every november and dissapears except above a certain level in april? Or gradually comes and goes each year?
Eye candy i know but it would be pretty cool

Re: Snow in Temperate Climate
Updated from scratch. Not perfect, but mostly do it's work (don't know how to make that nice smooth transition in 32bpp like in main menu or if it's possible at all). I'd recommend you install also "OpenGFX+ Landscape" newgrf and move it onto top of the list of newgrfs, so you'd get settings for snow depending on season. And you could disable all new sprites in settings (especially if you playing 32bpp) (and if you want to change newgrfs in saved games, just write "set newgrf_developer_tools 1" in console).
