99.9% certain that I've seen Glasgow Cen/Q Street or something similar on them.[/Pedant]
As for Shoreditch, they should never have closed Broad Street.

Re: Curious thought
Nein, I just didn't specify using the Journey Planner that I wanted to go via BIrmingham International...JamieLei wrote:I suppose it's because Shrewsbury isn't in Wales, ergo: Welshie not interested (prefers routings that maximise journey time in sheep country).
Re: Curious thought
Journey planner comes up with a change at Craven Arms for Newport, not Shrewsbury. To change at Shrewsbury would be doubling back with an hour's worth of unnecessary travel.welshdragon wrote:Nein, I just didn't specify using the Journey Planner that I wanted to go via BIrmingham International...JamieLei wrote:I suppose it's because Shrewsbury isn't in Wales, ergo: Welshie not interested (prefers routings that maximise journey time in sheep country).
If you're going to goto Shrewsbury, you might as well go to Birmingham New Street. Also, half the WSMR trains don't go via International, and none of them call there, so I have no idea what you're on about there...
The journey planner doesn't find journeys to London via Shrewsbury with 1 change, because the services aren't timed up correctly. But it's possible. It does however recommend 1 change at Cardiff.
Anyway conclusion is: Welsh Marches Line is entirely 1 change away from London.

Re: Curious thought
Actually, only two services (one there, one back) don't call at Birmingham International, which is small enough for the computer to just recognise the service as "via Bhm Intl".
The two services are the ones that go through New Street, as I believe the connection that links Aston-Stechford rejoins the RBS Loop *south* of the chord to Tyseley.

Re: Curious thought
They say Glasgow Cen/Q St on them specifically, as there are more than just those two in the city centre.Kevo00 wrote:99.9% certain that I've seen Glasgow Cen/Q Street or something similar on them.[/Pedant]

Wait, you're referring to WSMR services right? I thought none of them call at International, and 2 a day go via Solihull?Dave Worley wrote:Actually, only two services (one there, one back) don't call at Birmingham International, which is small enough for the computer to just recognise the service as "via Bhm Intl".

That's what I meant. Shut up, I've graduated haha.
One there One back through Solihull, which as I say is why these go through BNS.Tyseley chord is north of Stechford.
