Welcome to Wallyweb Graphics Studio

I have taken an interest in drawing and I introduce my works in the following pages.
I invite your comments and critique. Good peer review can only help me to improve.

Some of the works have already been assigned exclusively to the Canadian Theme Pack and will not be offered elsewhere until further notice. These will be identifiable by the CDN mark appearing alongside their presentation.
I wish to acknowledge OzTransLtd, DanMack and Lifeblood for some of their suggestions which helped me to produce a better product for my CDN contributions. Thanks guys. :D

The works are presented under various headings:
- New Objects
- Buildings
- RVs
- Bridges
- Miscellaneous

Wallyweb Graphics Studio - New Objects

Post by wallyweb »

New Objects
On November 21, 2006 I posted a suggestion that resulted in eis_os and subsequently Lakie developing and making newobjects a reality in TTDPatch. It was my hope that a publicly released GRF be made by now. This has yet to happen, although from OzTransLtd's posts in the New Objects topic and his introduction to the Canadian Theme Pack it would seem that these will eventually become a reality. I have submitted graphics to be used in the Canadian sets. They are reproduced below for your comments. Note that I have tagged them as CDN

For the moment, the eventual release date of the Canadian Theme Pack is unknown. Meanwhile, I would like to see a newobject release as soon as possible. Therefore, I will draw a lighthouse and transmitter tower that have not been submitted to the Canadian Theme Pack. I will also spend a fair bit of time in the TTDPatch wiki pages learning all I can about coding newobjects.

Meanwhile, please check out the Canadian material I have done to date:

Communications Tower (CDN)
Lighthouse (CDN)
Branch Offices (CDN)
Road Signs (CDN)

COMMUNICATIONS TOWER - CDN

This communications tower is based upon the CNCP Telecommunications microwave relay tower that used to be located at the top of Pyramid Mountain in the Canadian Rockies. The height of the mountain was reduced by 10m in order to provide a level area for the structures. The tower was unique in that it was serviced by its own aerial tramway. The tower was decommissioned in 2004.

Recommended Application: Locate the highest mountain on your map and level the peak so that you have a one tile space to build the tower. Alternatively, you can build it with foundations on a slope.

To Do: A snowy version for those ccccolddd Canadian winters.
Try SAC's suggestion to show the back side of the tower.

Very nice Wally! :))

However, may I make some inputs? If so, then I would have made the "backside" of that steel construction, (red/white), first using somewhat darker colors, and then placed the frontside on top of that, creating the illusion of it actually having 4 sides. Atm it looks like it has only 2!

Thank you.
However, may I make some inputs?
Definitely. That is one of the reasons for this topic. :D

You're right! It does only have 2. We ran out of gray poupon! Perhaps you have some extra ... :?:

I will definitely give SAC's suggestion a go.

LIGHTHOUSE - CDN

The Lighthouse

Slowly the nor'easter began to blow that lonely winter's night
As the solitary keeper climbed the stairs to tend to his light
Set out on a rock to warn the sailor of his impending plight
Upon those retched rocks that had sent so many to their final fight.

Greatly enraged at the steadfastness of that one lonely tower
That nor'easter began to blow with ever and ever. ever more power
Driving those unwary enough to challenge it's might
Upon those retched rocks that had sent so many to their final fight.

Amid the incessant din of the wind driven waves that night
Still the solitary keeper climbed the stairs to tend to his light
As that nor'easter howled it's rage with all of it's might
Upon those retched rocks that had sent so many to their final fight.

A storm tide fully engorged by the full moon's might
Torn as it was by the wind driven waves that night
That full moon hidden by that nor'easter's cloud could shine no light
Upon those retched rocks that had sent so many to their final fight.

Still the solitary keeper climbed the stairs to tend to his light
Upon those retched rocks that had sent so many to their final fight.

- w.e.bamberger, 2010

This lighthouse is based upon the one on Gannet Rock in the Bay of Fundy.

Recommended Application: Locate an island on your map, or a lonely wind swept bit of coast. A foundation is recommended.

To Do: A snowy version for those ccccolddd Canadian winters.
Definitely of the "Not ready for prime time" category - aka a work in progress.
The paint needs a little noise to reflect the weather beating such a building enjoys.
Anti-aliasing to hide those jagged lines.

Here´s another photo:

[edit]
This lighthouse is East Quoddy, aka Head Harbour, Passamaquoddy Bay, New Brunswick, Canada, Latitude 44-57-29, Longitude 66-54-00.

I´m hoping this one will find your interest as well.

Thanks. A good thought. I'm going to keep that one in mind for

The paint should be easier to draw as well. :D

By any chance, do you know that light's location?

BTW - Michael, the light house in your photo is the East Quoddy not the Gannet Rock. [http://www.lighthousesrus.org/Canada/NewBrunswick.htm]
