I wasn't talking competition... at all. I meant that the original_windows graphics don't look as good as the OpenGFX ones. :-)

You should turn of the station signs etc. since they are not shown on the title screen. Apart from that I don't see how this looks "much less clean" than with OpenGFX other than the differences that are between the styles of the two graphic sets? I mean, the two sets have two different styles, that is not something that a title screen can do anything about.

I tend to disagree. Why not show multiple companies in the title screen? After all, it's a fundamental feature of OpenTTD (be it against other humans in multiplayer, or an AI).

<Lakie> Well, they do the same thing but the code is different.

yes but iirc by default the OTTD 1.0.0 comes without an AI ... so i am not sure its going to work, otherwise i would agree with you.

I do agree, it looks much better. And OpenTTD comes by default with a multi-player option ;-)

Not that it would be quite the same, but couldn't you just use different colours for different vehicle types? I presume that would work in the title and to someone who has never played the game before (or not noticed that feature) the effect would be much the same.

You don't need to upload the opntitle.dat and opentitle.sav, they are the same (just different extensions).

Mark0291:
All the interesting stuff seems to be at the right part of the screen.

Users with smaller screens won't see that part.
For testing, select a small window from the game options(?), and check how you like your screen then.

Hey, now when i can see you all have different preferred climates.

Would it be possible to give every climate a .dat file, and then give them 10 sec. for an example. That would show the different climates, and give a more varied title game!

But is it possible to code btw?

It's possible, but if we implement that without a massive rewrite you'll get all windows in the introgame get closed every 10 seconds as loading a savegame reinitialises the whole window subsystem.

Ofcourse one can do the rewrite, but... that's likely going to end up with lots of initial bugs and lots of extra complexity. For something that doesn't really add much to OpenTTD.

It'd be nice if code could be added in the final release to have it so that you can have multiple title screen show for a few seconds at a time like in locomotion, all you would have to do is move the title screens to your data folder and name it like "opntitle1.dat" "opntitle2.dat" etc so it will cycle through all the title games

Would you please look further than the "Post reply" button before writing such a suggestion? Especially when it has been asked two posts before yours and answered one post before yours.

You could random load one of the .dat files.
That way you see an other title every time you start the game, or return to the title screen

My contribution... A "fully functional" (but loss making) game on a small mountainous map in the arctic climate...

*edit* the numbered signs were for the moving view patch... ignore them!

That's the best yet.

Could you just make the town look a little more like a town, not just several buildings near a road?

Excellent - I tried to make sth like this, but I failed
Upgraded version - with multiple industries and PBS.
And withou stupid-bridge-builded-by-town (no road building by stupid people)
There is one problem - what with smaller resolutions?
