bumping your own topics in less than a hour for no reason is going to make people not respond to your topics.

Re: Local and express?
local means it stops at every station, express means it doesnt i belive
or
it could mean priority rattings were the express gets more priority over the local.

Re: Local and express?
Express will only stop at the stops listed in its orders. Local will stop at all stops it comes across as it makes its journeys.
Express means you have good control over where it stops..local means you dont.
I dont recall ever proving there was a difference in priority..but it would make sense.

I thought the priority thing becuase of railroad tycoon.
Re: Local and express?
kingalex11235, the answer to your question is in the manual that comes with the game, either the paper version or downloadable from the cd-rom.
I would also recommend you read the forum rules at great length as by your own admission you "dont use that many forums".
Thankyou and enjoy your stay.

Re: Local and express?
I don't think there is a difference in priority - my locals certainly like to get in the way of my expresses! Would be good if there was a Railroad Tycoon style priority system.
Re: Local and express?
Express options are very good if you're building realistic city public transport (if you have dual-track train lines) and you can buy two different trains, one train is, for example, North Coast Express and only stops at Central Station and maybe North Station and North Coast Station while local trains will stop every stations on the journey. For me, when I build the public transport, I always buy local trains and express trains.
Hope it helps

Re: Local and express?
Local = Goes in direction set by user via waypoints, and stops at all stations
Express = Goes in direction set by user via waypoints, but only stops at stations set in the waypoints.
Local example =
Station A -to- Station D = Train will stop at A; B; C; D
Express example =
Station A -to- Station D = Train will stop at A; D
Express = Goes in direction set by user via waypoints, but only stops at stations set in the waypoints.
Local example =
Station A -to- Station D = Train will stop at A; B; C; D
Express example =
Station A -to- Station D = Train will stop at A; D
