Despite having a population of under 500 for the first 10/15 years since the coming of the raiway, Cuxhaven boasted the largest station on the network for many years. The station is on the junction where the line from Springe/Wolgast to Bremerhaven meets the mainline from Gustrow. It is also home to the only depot on the entire network.
On view in this shot ia a BR01 passing non stop through the station with an express from Gustrow to Bremerhaven, as well a BR116 passing the depot complex with an express service to Springe calling at Wolgast only and a ET-87 with a stopping service also to Springe.

Wolgast is a rather large city and boasts the second busiest station on the network. To the north of the station the line splits. The line which bends to the left (can just be made out in the picture - the unelectrified bit, left of the depot) is a newly built line that links Wolgast with the towns of Jarmen, Heide & Wilhelmshaven. Services on this line are currently operated by BR38s which were displaced from the Wolgast - Oldenburg mainline after electrification. The other line to the north leads to Nordhorn west junction where the line splits with one line heading to Oldernburg via Lubeck and Luneberg and the other heading to Bremerhaven via Nordhorn and Cuxhaven. ET-87s provide local services on both lines, while a mix of BR 18, BR 05 and BR 116 hauled trains provide semi fast and fast services on both lines.
To the south of the station trains either continue to Springe or Duderstadt. ET-11s, such as the red one on view, are exclusively used on the short line between Wolgast and Duderstadt.
Oldenburg, in the far north, is another busy station. A vast number of services terminate at the station (only semi fast services from Wolgast which are heading for Bad Schwartu don't terminate here) which include slow services from Bremerhaven which take a long and windy route via Lauenberg and Grimmen, services from Wolgast (both express and slow services) and services from Gluckburg and Klutz operated by BR38s displaced from other more important routes on the network.
And to try and make my descriptions a little easier to follow
here's a map of the game so far.

Lüneburg is where the mainline from Bremerhaven to Güstrow (the unelectrified line) passes over the Wolgast to Oldenburg mainline. Despite there being a service from Bremerhaven to Oldenburg in existance, it is actually quicker for passengers travelling between those two cities to change here at Lüneberg...

It would mean either creating a new line that branches of the Bremerhaven - Gustrow mainline before Lüneburg meaning that such a route would miss out Lüneburg (unless another station was built) or build a line that branches of after the upper level station at Lüneburg and then passes the lake on the left hand side before joining up with the Wolgast - Oldenburg line north of the lake, this could be quite expensive and would face opposition from those living in Lüneburg

Browsed through your topic and just gotta say your screenies are best I've seen here, very realistic. Inspire me to try make similar track layouts hehe. Cant wait to see more

New game. New Shots.
MB1. Minden & Zweibrucken. The FPP at Minden is at the heart of the company's operations with grain and livestock being delivered from farms up and down the stretch of the mainline that extends past Bad Vilbel in the south.
The branch off the line between the two towns is the line to Wuppertal. Most passengers services originate/terminate here, while also oil trains pass through from time to time on their way to the refinery just west of the town.
MB2. Diez - just to the southeast of Zweibrucken. ET-87s provide services to Wuppertal, while BR38s run on the line to Trier and Rockenhausen on the coast.

Back after a while. Still using pretty much the same newGRFs for this game while I get used to playing OTTD again.
First two shots: before and after of Stevenston, currently the main junction on the network. The 2 platforms and the single line approach from the West was proving to be inadequate as traffic across the network slowly increased. Hence a few small modifications were carried out, including a new spur being added to the east of the station with a line to Blackburn (the biggest city in the game). The 0-6-0 Tank engines currently terminate here and run onto Kirkburton or Shevington to the north of the town, while the 4-4-0 Express's head towards Ickornshaw in the east and currently Coppul in the west although future expansion is planned.
Final shot is of Kirkburton. The 4-4-0 Express is operates a non-stop service to Stevenston via the track that heads west. The 0-6-0' that run between Kirkburton and Stevenston also operate along this line although they have intermediate stops at Bridlington and Lyonshall. The line that curves round the town heads to Ickornshaw and only sees local stopping services run on it.

After a long absence I started playing OTTD again. I'm using some pretty old newGRFs but it suits me.
In my current game the 60s have just arrived and the over-capacity network is gradually being improved as Diesels and Electrics are slowly replacing the old, tired and slow Steamers that have been dragging large amounts of freight around the network for the past 40 years.
1st Shot is of Soulbury - one of the main bottlenecks on the network. Freight serves both the steel mill seen in the shot as well as towns to the north and north-west meaning the station is often clogged with Oil, Grain and Livestock trains passing through as well as a number of passenger services that terminate here from both the north and south. The company definitely needs to re-design the station as even the 4-track throat to the south is to small to handle current traffic (yet alone future traffic as the company builds further north). However the already tight curve to the north-east, the lakeside location of the town and the Steel Mill bang next to the station are going to make this slightly tricky...
2) Rainford - to the south of Soulbury on the mainline that stretches to Pleasington in the deep south. The junction here is for a Spur to the city of Ilkeston and also serves as the point where the line reduces from 4 to 2 tracks. As a result there are a lot of conflicting movements regularly causing long delays on the network.
The actual station at Rainford shows signs of when the line was originally just a single track railway with a platform (now the middle one) sited slightly south of it's current location.
3) Here, Uffington shows signs of the beginning of electrification, with new electric engines being introduced on heavy mineral trains which serve Soulbury Steel Mill. The power station is in state of decline having had no regular service in the last 10 years due to the exhaustion of deposits to the north in Earlsdon and the need of the local coal mine to serve the Steel Mill in Soulbury. Meanwhile, recent developments have seen the development of a new mainline from Ilkeston (to the left) that crosses over the Soulbury-Pleasington mainline just to the north of Uffington. In the near future it is planned that there will be a massive increase in traffic on this line as new freight services are introduced to carry lumber and plastic to the region's main factory at Ilkeston.
