Good job. Doesn't look too bad. Talk to Plastikman about making the rods animated, you've got to create 3 more sets of sprites (with the rods in a different position on each set of 136), but he's your man to yak to about it. As for the colour, possibly re-render it lighter, or lighten it with Photoshop and re-convert it... As for the position, play around with the x and y values in VC.

That is a piece of art.

If you need any ideas (well...actually this is more of a request) you could try making one of these:

http://www.mccloudriverrailroad.com/statistics.htm

I think your little loco there is quite a nifty piece of candy, as well as the Heisler 2Tr :)

Oh, almost forgot. Here is some more images (and info is you click "web") on your train you got there:

For the position on the track, change the y-offset figure in msts2lomo. In the most recent version it is set to the standard -0.2 which I use in the early days of the original msts2lomo, but its probably better to use the figure of -0.4.

The more negative you make it the higher it will sit on the track, and vice versa.

I don't want to clog and congest the forums with useless request threads.
I'm doing my part to keep the forums clean, just like we should be doing with the planet. ;) Hey, it's progress. Anyways, that was mostly a compliment thing...

Ok, now that is covered- Back to the topic.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Had a go at brightening it up and generally making it look better:
Image

wadeo, I guessed as much from taking apart the steam locos that come with the game. Looks like a lot of work...so I better get cracking.

Good job mate, looking much better... You probably want to try lightening a couple more shades though, unless it's my crappy corporate-issued work monitor...

It'll be a bit of work, but it'll be worth it!!

Update: I've managed to get it working in the game with animated rods.

Image
I'm going to continue working on the graphics, as the rods don't look quite right in some of the sprites. Oh, and a tip for anyone else who tries something like this: you only need 288 sprites for a loco like this instead of the 544 I did originally (4x 136). It seems that is too many for it to work in the game.

Well done, impressive progress, I can't wait for this loco to be released

Just out of intrest, are you thinking of doing anymore (UK) steamers after this one?

You've read my mind. ;) I won't make any promises though, as I've got exams coming up very soon.

I'm glad you're at least considering building more UK steamers, we have a real lack right now, so any* would be great.

Cheers
