One dead in Quebec City level crossing accident

Post by Circeus »

A passenger train (news reports only give it as a "Montreal-Quebec passenger train", so I assume it is the Corridor).

The accident occurred at the Plante Street crossing, in the Vanier neighborhood, and the car was dragged nearly five hundred meters (~1600 ft) until the A-175 overpass. Details are sketchy.

Here's a Gmaps showing the relevant details

Ironically enough, just Saturday, another Via Rail train (a Canadian service) collided with an empty police cruiser that had been left at the Wallace Avenue crossing, in Toronto.
