Monorail problem

Post by DaveDaily »

Hello,

I just switched between the normal TTD to OTTD because I liked the copy orders option, and i think its all great and stuff.
But I'm still using the savegame of the original TTD, and everything works fine accept for the monorail. Sometimes I can use the monorail option and sometimes I can't use it, although I'm in 2010 or something.. It's the same for the other one but i'm not using that one yet.

Now the problem is that i already made a big monorail-way and had 3 trains running. But now all off a sudden they stoped working and don't have any power anymore cause the track "lack catenary". Now I've got no idea what to do, cause i can't use the monorail function anymore and i got 3 trains standing still doing nothing, but are in the way cause I would like to change the monorail in to electrified tracks now...

So, is there anybody who could help me out of this one?

Sorry for my English, might be a bit hard to read.

Thanks in Advance.

That is very odd. Try doing a straight conversion with the train on top. It may work

If not, try going back to the savegame just before you built the monorail. If this was a long time ago it probably isnt worth it

Attaching the savegame here would help.

Yeah, I did a bit to much after installing the monorail, so I probably wont go back to before then.

I'll attach a savegame. The monorail starts ad Fedham and goes to Sutfingway..... and yes, I'm a cheater :) but otherwise I would suck big-time.

You've added several NewGRF's in an already running game, don't do that. The cause of the problem most likely is that you loaded the dbset which changed an original monorail vehicle into an electric vehicle. Since an electric engine can't run on monorail, you get this error.

I tried removing the GRF's but it didnt help.

I have a feeling you may need to just start a new game.

Allright, no problem. I tried some new GRF's already with TTDpatch, but that didn't work so when I saw how easy it was with OTTD, I tried them out.

Thanks for the quick reply's.

Reloading the TTD savegame without adding any NewGRFs should be enough.

After loading/removing vehicle GRFs in-game (despite the big red warning ) it sometimes helps to issue an resetengines in the console.
