Night Scenery
Possible no one ever thought about it or would it just be too difficult?
C'mon, just imagine the train lights on the track at night, maybe even with rain (as in RC Tycoon).
My 2 euro-cents.

If you are not ready to work a bit for your ideas, it means they don't count much for you.
OpenTTD and Realism? Well... Here are a few thoughs on the matter.

Re: Night Scenery
There is also this embryonic patch which aims to give weather conditions (and possibly day/night) however changing the whole viewport's graphics brightness without altering the GUI was prooving difficult.
Re: Night Scenery
I'm glad you guys have patience with newbies!
Thanx for the heads up!
Just checked out the site, the cities at night are just as I expected, awesome.
Thanx again people!

Re: Night Scenery
I programmed it, but this was essentially before blitter an such stuff. Consequently also the menu was darkened. Could be done better be the modern blitters imho ... Also the day and night circle was set to three neights per month. And there is a patch in the same thread which has a slightly higher chance of working.
I like to look at great maps and see how things flow. A little like a finished model railway, but it is evolving and actually never finished. http://www.simutrans.com
Re: Night Scenery
The weather patch recently still had problems selectively darkening only the isometric portions of the viewport, but any advances with the new blitters would be awesome
