Winamp and TTD

Post by guest »

In Windows xp when you run TTD during the game and a tune has finished their will be a pause and this will freeze up the screen for about 10 seconds and then it will go on to the next tune. I had spoken to Josef Drexler about this and he said it was something to do with midi interface or something like that that xp dosent have. He did say that if i run Winamp this should solve the problem. So how do i run Winamp with TTD.

here the same, it's about 1-2 seconds, so not a big problem

but how do you get the music from TTD into winamp, i looked with winamp search engine in TTD directories, but found nothing :?:

Josef Drexler said to get Winamp to work in TTD you would have to change the file associations but i am not sure how to do this.

:D :D :D :D
i am a happy man
i dowloaded winamp
copied the files from my TTD > gm directory
renamed them as mid (extension)
added them to a playlist
with TTconfig said: no midi music
now i am playing the TTD music with winamp and playing TTD without the freez-ups !!!
is there a better way :?:

i will try
1. download winamp from here http://www.winamp.com/download/
2. in your transport tycoon directory is a gm directory
copy all the .gm files to a new dir and rename them all with .mid extensions
3.create a playlist in winamp and add all these .mid files, i have found it , so can u
4.use the application TTconfig in the TTD directory to change the music settings to 'no midi'
5. before u start the game play the playlist

This way no more freez-ups !
I mean this, if i can do it so can u

The reason you have this pause is due to the way the Windows XP MIDI system works. On some systems the pause is less noticable than others. Anyway, you now know how to use Winamp at the same time as TTD, so you don't really have a problem any more. ;)
