SimuTTD 86.07.4
SimuTTD 86.07.4
Simutrans with TTD graphics. Sometime soon hopefully only without too much original graphics (but using TTRS etc.)
http://www.physik.tu-berlin.de/~prissi/ ... 6-07-4.zip Windows (needs unicows.dll on Win9x)
http://www.physik.tu-berlin.de/~prissi/ ... 6-07-4.zip Linux
http://www.physik.tu-berlin.de/~prissi/ ... 6-07-4.zip Graphics (extract to same location as above)
http://www.physik.tu-berlin.de/~prissi/ ... cs-src.zip (not updated yet)
Some better balancing done and roadsings added (were forgotted during compilation, allowing single direction roads etc.) Also now based on 86.07.4, which seems more stable again.

After I load the game and press the 'X' on the main window to shut it down, the music keeps playing and I get an 'application crash' window.
- The animation of the power-plant smoke is somehow wrong (perhaps wrong offset?)
Looks fun though, online unplayable on a laptop as is any game that needs a mouse. A touchpad just doesn't cut it
- When scrolling the game the in-game mouse-cursor stays behind while my windows-cursor is scrolling. I always have the windows cursor availableUnhandled exception at 0x0046999c in simTTD.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x01bbc370.

Re: SimuTTD 86.07.4
because maybe you haven't actually downloaded and installed it properly?
Re: SimuTTD 86.07.4
I wonder, will there be a newer version of SimuTTD (i.e. 99 series based one), especially with underground mode and maybe new features/bugfixes added to Simutrans in the meantime
I know, that TTD does not have such capability, but this would make this game even more superior, while reassembling the TTD, so probably attracting winning new players over from TTD original to try Simutrans.

That is still not all ...
Re: SimuTTD 86.07.4
One could do this, but there are several problem:
- The slopes in Simutrans are twice the height as in OpenTTD. Could be solved by some programming efforts.
- The graphics are copyrighted. Thus distribution is rather difficult, since it could nto be done via the official server.

I like to look at great maps and see how things flow. A little like a finished model railway, but it is evolving and actually never finished. http://www.simutrans.com
Re: SimuTTD 86.07.4
If you want to use a current simutrans version, you can copy all the ground.*.pak files and all missing misc.*.pak files and the wayobj.caternary. from a pak 64 into this folder and simurtans should run. Eventually, you need to delete all ground*.pak and tree.*.pak and replace them with the pak64 counterparts.

Re: SimuTTD 86.07.4
The http://www.physik.tu-berlin.de links are not valid anymore. As I understood, prissi had gratuated.
Prisi, is there another alternate download location?
Thanks.

Re: SimuTTD 86.07.4
The link for the more recent version should work. However, since we are at 99.17.1 at the moment, I would rather suggest to use a more recent version. With the replacement graphics thread on OpenTTD kicking up, a working version may happen soon. YOu can contribute (and check the current state) via the sourceforge svn. (simutrans.sourceforge.net)
The other, more recent one is http://www.physik.tu-berlin.de/~prissi/ ... 9-03-1.zip

Re: SimuTTD 86.07.4
This game is cool, but I can't download linux-binary, link is dead . Where can I get source code? What is status of game, is it opensource?
Re: SimuTTD 86.07.4
It is opensource. The stable sourceode is on http://www.sourceforge.net/project/simutrans, the svn is at svn://tron.homeunix.org/simutrans/simutrans --username anon.
For SimuTTD you need to edit the autogenerated config.default to OTTD_LIKE. Also built the pak.ttd from sourceforge and copy it over the old pak. The will give your the most resent SimuTTD.
