I see some people have very many RV's or ships, but why have so many? I mean, they hardly make any profit, so what's the use? (or am i missing something)
Ok, so they may be good for short distances, but then just don't use the sawmill next door but the one on the other side of the map (that's more profitable).

i use ships because i made them faster with TTD alter and they have high amounts of capacity
RV's to make big cities for my airports train stations etc

Thats my 2 cents 8)

I've got a whole map with towns at least above 5000 pop with my biggest one at 9000 or more but sadly its not a savegame with very good networks  but they still run and make loads of profit 8)

I wasn't very good with the one-way signals and all that jazz, in the beginning, but I think it just takes practice. You can look at an example a billion times, but that won't let you do something perfect first go. I say, go for it, start small and keep working on the small stuff with the diff. types of signals, then once you conquer that, keep practicing. You'll get it eventually I assure you. Well, unless you give up...

Good luck :)

1968 (started in 1950):

109 trains
59 road vehicles
5 aircraft

The start has been quite slow because building my network has taken a lot of time.

*jaw drops*

Thats a mighty fine number of buses...

I am playing with 21 Trains, and nothing else (it's 1980, but the scenario started me in 1975)

I connected every town. From begining, there was only smal town (less than 1500 inhabitants) and now most of theim have more than 10000 inhabitants :)

I'm currently designing trains to do move the new passengers
