Greetings.....Newbie Question

Afternoon All,

Ah, What a fantastic game. I dread to think how long I have stayed up during the nights in my youth playing this game. Not only that, I can still play it now with the same ethusiasm I did then. Brilliant.

I have been looking around on this forum at some quite spectactular screenshots (ISA's). Where on earth did all those new buildings, train stations, trains and industries come from? Can anyone tell me whetre I can get all of this stuff and what I need?

OK, To make it a bit easier. I have installed TTD Patch 2.5 Beta 9 and is working fine. can anyone tell me how I add new graphics to it? Like new industries, towns, stations etc...?

I also have Open TTD running on the machine as well.

try GRF Crawler to get the files
adding them just requires you to add them to your newgrf folder and add the lines into your newgrf.cfg or use Shadow's grf manager availiable at the ttdpatch website
PS: good that you went for the beta rather than the un-stable

there is a GUI in OTTD, to do the samething.

please note that some GRFs from GRFcrawler, do not work with OTTD currently.

have a look at the GRF list on the wiki , alto must will work with OTTD, some IE new industries won't as it's not yet implemented into OTTD.

this is better dscribed in the NewGRF FAQ on the wiki

Hey Guys,

Many Thanks for your replies. I have had a bash at adding new graphics to both TTD Patch and Open TTD and I have to say Open TTD is much easier to work with.

However I am having a small problem installing the Total Town Replacement Set v3.02a into Open TTD. Could anyone help with this also? I am running Open TTD 0.5.3.

I do have other graphics running on this install as well. I thought that there may be some conflict with these, but I have installed the Total Town replacment set on it's own and it still doesn't work. Changing the parameters doesn't make any difference either. Can anyone please help?

Hi All,

Do not worry about this problem. It was resolved. The Total Town Replacement Set will not work with the 0.5.3 stable release. Only the nightly releases.
