Fantastic work, can't wait to see that textured. Can't you give a preview of that?
Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
I don't want to disrupt my modelling at the moment I'm afraid, I've made all these today. I'm in the mood for modelling!

the ledge circled in yellow seems to me, to be a little bent ?
however you also seem to have a talent for this kind of thing

Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
It's a large wooden beam (half timber house - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Half-timber) as opposed to a ledge, I was aiming for "rustic charm", a bit too much maybe?

Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
this version is A LOT better, however,
the windows, seem to be to high of the ground, (all levels)
but i do prefer the way you have drawn in yours last post to the this post, that not all houses are build, south-east facing, IE the way you've changed the main facing surface of the building
also the ledge above the "front door" (what we call it in england) is a lttle step, they are more as flat in england. (not sure about other countries)
the roof window, could do with being a little higher also, as it sits, it looks like it's part of the second floor

lordazamath: I like it! The stripes are a very cool feature. Leave them as they are. IMO you have talent.
Zephyris:
You did the work of a dozen artists!!!

Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
Now I improved the stripes a tiny-winy bit. Adjusted the ground floor door's height and top floor door's width. I also pngcodeced the file and put it into the game as testing.
The pngcodeced file is now tar-ed in my next post

Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
I can't add more than three attachments per post so here is the screenie from game and the file - pngcodeced and put into a right place. The building looks a bit blurry and flat, but I can't help it until we don't have more zoom levels.
And ofcourse the basement is unofficial sized. (y-repeat, x-repeat etc, coz I don't know the right values)
EDIT:Download the TAR archive few post below

Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
The ingame screenshot looks awesome.
I would like a flat roof for that building, but I think the majority like the roof, so there's no reason to change that.

Lord Azamath
Just a hint:
Since the nighlies of yesterday version >=11116, tar loading is supported again. I've tested it, and it works perfect (at least on Gentoo Linux).
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=34066
So maybe you can post them as tar files in the new format, so people would only have to put the file in the data directory and it works.
If you have the sprites still in the directory data/sprites/trg1r, they take precedence over the tar file, which is easy when developing the sprites, but you must remember to remove them when you want the sprites of the tar-file in the game

Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
I've seen that thread
I'm sure it works
Still doesn't work for me an win32. The files get loaded correctly but are not used in game.
I've placed a file gui.tar into the data directory.
Within the tar I've files like "sprites\trg1r\680.png"
I run openttd -b 32bpp-anim.
So, what am I doing wrong? I tried it with 7-zip and GNU tar 1.15.1 files.
I'm using windows too at the moment. And as far as I understood, there is a problem with windows. So i will update whenOkay, tnx. This is a Windows only problem, as on Linux it runs just fine. We are looking into this problem. Tnx for the report!
I'm sure it works
Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
You don't have to wait for that: on windows you can still untar the file in the trg1r directory, the Linux users just put the tar in the data directory, keeps things easier organised. When the problem is fixed, both groups just put the tar in the data directory

A preview of some texturing - comments on the textures are very welcome!

Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
That looks good. That looks very good.
Anyway I gave a tar to test to GeekToo and he said that it was okay. So I removed the zip from my older post and put a tar here.
The second thing is that I believ from rev11119 windows can read tars aswell.
Edit: I removed the ugly tycooonofthecentury.png because it's the only place here, where you can download tropicalflats.tar and I wanted to make this post cleaner
Edit2: I changed the tropical_flats.tar file, because I found out that I had included there work not my own. I apologize for doing that. The Tar is now tropical flats only. For just my own count I write it down here it had been downloaded for 42 times
EDIT3: I fixed the lightning glitch in the bottom left corner - enjoy. The old ver was downloaded for 44 times

Re: New Graphics - Blender ".blend" thread
Zephyris,
That looks FANTASTIC
Just a few remarks to make them even more perfect:
-The chimney on house 1 can use a brick texture
-Maybe you can try a subtle texture on the white walls of house 1, e.g. like LordAzamath did on the tropical bank
-The windows, esp. on house 2 seem to be too white: look around in any street: when standing outside, the windows will appear rather dark
-I'm not fond of the purple color of the thing on the roof (left) of house 2.
But that's all just tiny imperfections, in general: great job !
