[TTDP/OTTD] Ameecher's Screenshots
A savegame, I'm not sure I'll continue with this game, I dunno. Just watch the approach to the main station on the highest gamespeed, it can be quite fun

Heh, thanks Raichase, most of my games end up at this sort of stage with me just piling trains on and not having the space to add more platforms and extra lines. One thing that is a shame about this game is the lack of secondary industries like steel mills. There are a lot of iron ore mines that I can't use because there is no steel mill so my main business is coal as this is the only industry that my game makes spontaneously, there are 4 powerstations within 50 tiles of each other alongside my mainline.
Canadian Set with the fantastic Canadian Stations. My main passenger station with freight passing through.
The station has 2 platforms in each direction with 3 reversing sidings at each end. No passenger trains currently travel through the station but only reverse in the sidings. This shot is at a moderately busy time

Re:
Very nice, on each of the 2 double platform stations, if you rebuild the subways in one click, you should get the little dome in the middle ...Ameecher wrote:Canadian Set with the fantastic Canadian Stations. Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
Yeah, I used to have those as the middle two tracks used to be platforms then I added a platform on each side and took out the middle ones so that'd be why there's no dome, I'll do that if I remember

Nice Canadian shot Ameecher

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
2 Shots from my current UKRS game.
Epsom, a sort of Kyle of Lochalsh before the Skye Bridge was built. The main reason it has a railway is to serve the Ferry to the other side of the bay. Long distance trains terminate at the town station while local trains run on to the quayside.
Eston Junction, the centre of the Network with 5 lines merging on this point. I just hope that I've built enough capacity for the future (even through lines! I never do that sort of thing early on!).

Nice rural shots
How do you make docks invisible? Or, how do you make a railway station accept ships?

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
Right click when building a buoy and select "build station buoy" then link the stations to it.
Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
I have to say I rather like your screenshots, Ameecher.
Somehow I never manage to make the 'Picturesque' kind of screenshots like you and raichase and various other people always make.
Although I suppose PBS does help in making more natural junctions, which I don't have because I'm using OpenTTD.
Do keep up the good work

GoneWacko. Making [url=irc://irc.oftc.net/tycoon]#tycoon[/url] sexy and exciting since 1784.
Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
Thanks, If you took PBS away from my games the whole lot would collapse and trains wouldn't get anywhere fast. That and restrictive signalling, that makes sure they all go the right way since my junctions are usually quite obscure.

Eston Junction looks like a good place to stand with a camera - hope it works out ok for you!
ps loving the realism as always.

Re: [TTDP] Ameecher's Screenshots
How about now then? The North approach was becoming clogged with a lot of conflicting movements so that end was reworked. With a flyover. However the problem was merely shifted to the southern end of the station so 3 years later the southern junction was reworked with another flyover. This is the result. It can handle a lot more trains now :Badger wrote:Eston Junction looks like a good place to stand with a camera - hope it works out ok for you!

Edit: Screenshot changed, but the content is the same, except I've upgraded tunnel grf from BKTunn2.0 to 3.0 which now gives me nice brick portals to blend in with my foundations for build on slopes.

What about the rest of the network? Any more pics?

Just for you, I couldn't even be bothered to crop them....Badger wrote:What about the rest of the network? Any more pics?
1) Dartford and Ascot. Dartford was originally 2 platform terminus (nearest the town) then the line was extended north (over those huge viaducts so reversing sidings were introduced, increased traffic (including freight) meant more platforms were added. The southern sidings were added to allow trains from the North to reverse. Ascot station is served by local trains only, expresses use the centre tracks. Spot the trams

2) Warminster. Designed so that trains can terminate from the South (by looping round) while express trains (and freight can pass through without reversal/having to stop (although most expresses do stop). It also allows access to all lines via the station. Works well. Eston Junction is almost due west of Warminster.
3) Uffington. Both lines ultimately reach Eston Junction (all lines on the map do) but the main route is where the mail train is going (it's one of the last steam trains in service). Some fairly ugly trackwork but it is needed for when it gets busy (which it does. often). Eston Junction is North West of Uffington.
Edit: As Eston Junction is centrally located I've added a rough direction of Eston Junction to each description.
