1) Facelift for railway station
It is old news but with new developments

Network rail has pledged £1.3million to improve PBO station and its surroundings, the move they say is intended to increase passenger numbers. The upgrade plans to include a new platform for the proposed link with (ThamesLink) the other FCC route - linking Peterborough with the south including Gatwick Airport. Also another platform specifically for use by trains to and from cambridge, platforms will also be extended to cater for longer trains. Giving PBO a total of 7 platforms.

2) Railway's Chuffed with new stop

The Yarwell Junction station has opened on the NVR after 5 years work and £50,000.

3) Calls to save historic rail building

There were calls today for a Grade-II listed building to be restored to its former glory after it was set ablaze by arsonists. The locomotive shed in question stands in East Station Road and it one of the few buildings left showing the old Peterborough East Station that once stood there.

It needs it too! I feel it needs more south bound terminating platforms though rather than more through tracks.

Well, if it is two more platforms. It logical to guess that one will be a through platform for the Cambridge and the other a terminating for the Thameslink link.
