OK. First hello everybody. Second sorry for my bad english.

I've received a mail from the yahoo group: Programmers needed. Well, I know how to write a program in C++. I completed already a larger project with a friend, a clone of "Siedler von Catan" on PC with network-support. But it's runable under DOS, with externel graphic support.

The question I have is: Where can i see which people are involved in the project and how far is it gone.

greetings

Welcome! Good to ha a potent programmer on this project.

The building design doc is for the progress. The people most working on this project are rein, Owen, Adam K and Hellfire, Hajo gives some good advice but is too busy with his own Simutrans project. I might have missed someone, but those four are th ones that come in mind.

Let's get back on topic, shall we?

Only thing is, there isn't much to get back to. Rein, do you have any updates for us? What I would be particulary interested in, is if things (buildings, vehicles and so on) will be 3D or sprites...I would just like to maybe make some gfx and see how good I really am, as I have never done such things before. Obviously, making a 3d object would require people to use much less polygons than when making 3d objects for bitmaps.

Good to see more programmers here though, they are very well needed!

Scrolling back to page 2, some nice framerates turning up - any chance of being a tester when there's something worth testing (e.g. tileset, etc.)? ;-)
Bugzilla available for use - PM for details.

Hi. Wanabe helper here......

Post by Sjamarron »

Hi there.

I want to know if I can help. Came upon this site after waiting forever for it to open, and got hooked.

Been programming databases and applications for 2 years now and would like to ruff my feathers at the game world.

If anybody can clue me up on the latest developments, please e-mail me.
(Here in Africa, I-Net very, very slow :( 56Kbp/s ).

My e-amil address : sjamarron@mweb.co.za

I can program in Delphi, Visual Basic and Assembler. Been fooling arround in Visual C++ and it look real easy.

I liked Transport Tycoon Deluxe, but after about 2 years of playing it, I want some other action, like adding new forms of transport and hostile corprate takeovers of the rival company/ies.

I hope that I can become part of this epic programming adventure in the game I think will take the world by storm. Transport Tycoon 2.

I know this idea will kick some ass when it starts running.

On another note.

Just one thing I want to know, will you's be exporting to linux as well ?
And will there be support for OpenGL or DirextX ?

The reason I ask....I think If the game is going 3D, OpenGL is the best Bet, and DirectX for 2D......Tell me what you think.

Kind regards

Welcome!
We want to make it working on Linux too, but someone has to convert it.
You can find most of the information at the FAQ topic in this forum.
Q: What operating systems will it run on? will it run under Linux?
A: We don't know .... maybe ... if there will be someone that can 'translate' it to Linux

Should not be a problem to recompile in Linux/Unix

Should not be a problem as long as the Language that is used is either C++ or Delphi.
