How do you reconfigure rolling stock?

Post by tdunn7 »

Hi there, I'm a newby to OpenTTD. I have the same problem in both RC2 & 3. I have the NewGRF UK Renewal set installed and I'm trying to load Iron Ore using the 'Mineral' wagon.

I can't find the way to reconfigure the wagon so that it accepts iron ore and it will only accept coal without reconfiguration.

Does anyone know how to get around this :?: :?

I hope this is the right place to post this question.

One of the buttons in the train window is the refit button. It looks like three cardboard boxes, I believe. If you're not sure, right-click on it, and a tool-tip will pop up. Once you've found the refit button, click on it, and select the desired cargo.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Thank you all. Problem solved. I hadn't noticed that the buttons on the various transport dialogs are context sensitive.

Hi Terry,

If you are new to TTD/OpenTTD a good place to start is http://wiki.openttd.org. A lot of gameplay related questions are handled there and will surely be helpful.

Anyways, welcome to the forums and we hope you'll enjoy your time here :)

Thanks 'O Dark' one. I played TTD years ago when I had a Win 95 machine and loved it. I had the old DOS version and could never get it to run on anything after 95.

I've been looking around for it ever since but couldn't download anything due to my dialup connection speed and limit. Recently my wife and I decided that we could afford cable broadband, we got it just before christmas and so here I am.

The game is even much more enjoyable with OpenTTD and especially with the NewGRF addons.

I look forward to many hours building my favourite - railways. :)
