white building = terminal
small building = staff building
i dunno where is the terminal in the normal airport?

It seems pretty plain to me that the white building is the terminal, as such, and the dark building is a storage shed for tools, fuel, whatever. It might be nice to "raise the roof" of the white building to allow for a second floor, with bigger windows on the second floor.
As far as the green grass goes, I've never really liked the grassy field, it doesn't seem very realistic for even a small airport in the 1950s. I suppose they don't use gravel for airfields, but maybe there is some other compromise, asphalt perhaps? Or we could add two cement pads for the planes to park on and leave the rest grass, which I think was sometimes done - that is, the most heavily trafficked areas were concrete and the rest was grass.

or just simple mud tracks in the grass, where the most of the traffic is, maybe asphalt can be okay just see what i can do how can you change the size of a sprite without screwing the whole file?

With the new climate selector thing on the patch where if you play toyland, you get all the toyland graphics and trains etc., and if you play arctic you get the arctic trains, even if you have the temp set....
This will help a lot with the TCP (Toyland Conversion Project) since we won't have to worry about not having any trains or wagons..

Lilman, can you tell me a bit more about how the climate selector works? I've talked about that sort of thing for a long while but didn't know action had been taken.

TTDPatch recognize climate and loading properly GRF ... (I think set ... coz it had to load at TTD start) ... for temperate it set to tempset[w].zip ofr arctic set to arcticset[w].zip (so you don't need to change in newgrf.txt anymore) ... (of course it only works if files ARE in newgrf.txt)
Hmmm. So this isn't the complete switcher I envision, which swaps round graphics AND makes TTDAlter-style changes to vehicle parameters, industry vectors, sprite designations, et al, but it's a big step in the right direction. Is there a set of instructions for it somewhere, on the Patch site maybe?

Shadow is correct, we will want a new screen-shot to go with our new environment.
Dinges is even more correct, how could we possibly make one when most of the environment, such as for instance all the vehicles, trees, and buildings, don't even exist yet.

Methinks we need a area-shot just like the other landscapes have (not buildings)
OK, well, then, lets see about making some Oriental looking trees. I think that will be among the most graphically distinctive aspects of the East Asia environment.

I think everyone would agree that school work is much more importaint than the graphics project. Good luck.
On the note of the trees, perhaps a couple of trees and maybe a side of a building, just to add more varety. I agree that the trees will be very distinctive, and I think they will be one of the hardest things to do unless we can find appropriate models for them. Perhaps leave them till the end of the project?
