Costs mixed up
These running costs are a bit too high if you ask me. I think new vehicles costs sometimes get put in the running costs number, this happens with all vehicles.

1) Don't inline pictures bigger than 800x600, it breaks tables.
2) Cloning* adds the costs of a new vehicle to the running costs. Check if you didn't do this
3) Running costs can be configured in the difficulty window, try to set the running costs to low if they aren't.
4) Planes have a too low running cost on default, which makes them actually more profitable, this is semi nullified by their speed reduction.
*It could be that this is only CTRL+Cloning

Any why did you not say that? We have no Orwellian thought police to figure out what you're doing in your head...LSky wrote:I think that's it then, since I did clone refitted vehicles.peter1138 wrote:LSky, this bug has been diagnosed.
It happens only when cloning a refitted vehicle. Quite why none of the reports managed to state that, I don't know...
Anyways, problem is fixed.

Didn't you hear, Darkvater? You're supposed to file for your crystal ball when you receive your first bug report.

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

I also have reported this bug(for trains) on the forum .. and I also had no idea that the refitting is the problem. The refitting is more or less transperent when cloning. The odd thing was that the bug occurred later in the game not at the first cloning.

I hooked up my accelerator to my brake lights. I hit the gas, people behind me stop, and I'm gone.
Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car. Oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far you take the wall with you. Spoilers and bodykits are how much of the wall you take with you. Rollcages and windownets are how much of a mess you leave on the wall.

I've experienced the same, thought now i cant build any new trains (with goods waggons) with normal running costs.
The funny thing, i can build a new train from scratch, the running costs of the engine are ok, but as soon as i add a goods waggon each waggon adds a huge amount to the running costs (i think each waggon adds like 23600 euro to the running cost of the engine. so, instead of 27800 euro for the engine i get like 145.000 euro for a train with 5 waggons).
Is there any way to fix this ? I mean to fix the costs for new trains not the bug that the costs get mixed if you clone refitted trains. I just would like to build new trains with normal running costs

I have to correct myself. In my case its not cause i cloned refitted trains.
It seems that the box-car (the one you get around 1960 - which has 120km/h max speed) has set a wrong running cost. I dont have to refit it into another cargo type the costs allready added when i bought 1 of those box cars the first time.
edit:
solved the problem, tropic refurbishment set bitched around with ukrs.
