*Applauds* Glad someone had to say it - only hearing those that agree with you is not the way to do things...

I too will not have time for this set, I shall continue using the US Set, and Michaels sets (and any other sets that come out that I like the look of), as the US Set people made some serious sacrifices to get their set out, and now look at it! Same with Michael, he listens to suggestions for things, and doesn't go off and do things regardless of what the community wants - just read the message board...

I also agree strongly with what DanMack and Akalamanaia said too... Good stuff folks.

And ttdlx_artist? If you really want to do your own set, without anyone "interfereing", perhaps it would be better if you did it via e-mail with your contributers, otherwise you will have people stating their opinions that are different to your own. Perhaps only take help from here, and then contribute over e-mail for the most part. Saves you getting annoyed, anyway.

well i've decided to go with DanMacK's idea of the VR set, just to start with. So here's an R-Class with a Z Van, 3 ABE passenger cars and a mail van (i dont know the code yet)... i know i haven't drawn the other angles yet, but this is the easiest way i know how to draw them.

Class R looks great, just a couple of things ttdx_artist. You need to move the smoke deflectors down a pixel or 2 and show the other one on the other side. I had to do the same thing w/my Challenger. Otherwise, it and the coaches look excellent.

DanMacK: the smoke deflectors are there, it's just the colour of the background that stuffs it up, the deflectors are grey on the oppisite side and the white background hides them... i'll send you an in-game shot soon.

The Z van's were generally just for freight. and the "mail" van wasnt mail it was baggage and anything else being transported.

and the deflectors are red on the outside and black on the inside

a: i know that the z-van was a 4/6 wheel guards van, but they often used them behind the loco on branch lines so they wouldn't have to break the train up at te end of the line, they simply put the loco on the other end and departed.

b: i know that the "mail van" is a baggage van, but since ttd doesn't have baggage vans it is easier to use baggage vans as the are more common to see on trains and look more realistic than nearly every train having mail vans.

c: on the oppisite side of the loco the deflectors have to be grey or they will make the loco look like it has a wacked out smokebox because the loco is black, and i'm pretty sure that's red, or am i colour blind

what is with your attitude?
i simply point something out and you act as if ive totally insulted you. if your going to post your work on a public forum, expect to get people correcting you.

on the matter of red, were you refering to the inside of the deflectors being red or something else? i wasnt sure... just incase you were....

no, i was saying that i painted the outside red, and the inside light grey, because if i make the inside of the oppisite smoke deflector black, it makes the smokebox look out of size with the boiler, and hides the headlight and funnel.

btw... just for the record, the r-class in those pics is now in West Coast colours (for those who don't know, it is the colour of the coaches in the top pic, Light Blue, White and Yellow)

761 belongs to steamrail and never has been in WCR livery, the top 2 pix are from last sunday and the other one is from earlier this year.

711 and 766 were mod'ed and repainted into WCR, and they were about to start on 700

with the 2 R's in WCR they were modified and have different stats, i think they were both oil burners i think, and were a bit more powerful.

regardless of what most vic railfans say, atleast something should be modeled to represent WCR

as far as i know, one is an oil burner, and the other was fitted with a deisel control unit, so the driver could control a deisel behind the loco as well.

Hi to all, from a end user of TTD who has absolutley no idea about creating sets/programming etc, I have the utmost respect for what you create. If I could contribute I would, but I'm relegate to just waiting for the end product. But thanks to all anyway, can't wait for a VR set down the track. Anyway back to the background... - cheers

You should have waited another two weeks to reply. Then you could have dug up a thread that's a nice round two years old.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

This thread may be of more use to you. This "branch" of the AU Set was a complete dead end, because the guy who started it was an ugly troll, who delighted in annoying people and wasting time.

Even though the set is currently NSW only, it will eventually be expanded to the other major states - for more information, check the thread. There is no "playable" release as of yet, it's going through testing now. WhiteHand is doing a marvellous job of coding, and the basics are down, it's a matter of correcting stats, setting prices (I am eager to see how my suggested price scheme plays) fine tuning etc.

Well here's a blast from the past. Thankfully, the guy who started this thread is long gone, and hasn't been back here in months. Good thing, if you ask me.
