How many speakers are attached to your sound card?

Not how many your sound card can possibly hold but the ammount you actually have. I have creative SB Live 5.1 (6 Speaker Card) but I only have 2 speakers on it at the moment. Include the sub woofer if you have one because thats also a speaker.

This is probably gonna sound really dumb when you already know, but if you have 6, how does it work? I have 4 and 1 bass, do you just not have a bass specific one, or have 2 bass, or what?

I have 4 but only two sets of stereo. I will soon connect my mono TV up to give another one. Maybe after I've got my DVD drive I will invest in a 5.1 sound card (can pick one of them up for about £15) and so the speakers to go with it (a bit more expensive). At the moment however there is no benefit to surround sound.

My surround sound speakers are pretty pointless too, no one ever uses it for films, the sound is off most of the time, maybe with the exception of when my dad plays spider here. The occasional spot of music when I'm working and have a new CD is all I get out of it.

I use my sound system for cd, dvds, mp3s and games. So its on when I'm on my pc. Saying that its not now

Well i have two speakers... most of the time I"m listening to the radio while using the computer so i never use my speaker

Altec Lansing ADA 880R. I've never listened to better speakers to a pc in my life, so I had to buy them. They are 4.1 Dolby Digital but have a virtual center (they emulate the center channel), so you may say 5.1

I have six speakers rigged up to mine for mp3 playing
one up stairs,
one in the kitchen,
two in hall (next to computer), and
two in living room.

When the carpet in my office was been changed I was stuck with laptop sound. It sucked. Then back to 5.1.
