put two way signals at the entrance to the station, where the train is waiting, and the tile next to it, leave the rest as one way

Two more tips involving ro-ro stations.

Firstly, the signals before your platforms should also be Exit Signals, and the one leading into the choice-of-platforms signal block should be a Pre Signal, so no one can enter that block until a platform's open. Otherwise, if a train comes to a set of two-way signals and all are red, it just picks one. You want it to be stuck at that one-way signal until at least one of the two-way signals indicating entrance to a platform are green, making sure the *first* open platform is the one that gets the waiting train.

Secondly, I've found that stations with 4+ platforms and a single signal block to the exiting slips can have real problems if a train breaks down in the exiting signal block. Sometimes, even with "Train Reversing" set to "End of the line only" the trains waiting in the platforms will get impatient and try to reverse, and since there's two-way signals, they can. With one-way signals leading in, they often try to move into another open platform, but they can't, because the exits are blocked and the train in that platform can't move either. So now no one can get in or out and it's all a big mess! The big way around this is to have a one-way exit signal immediately in front of each platform entrance, and two-way combo signals immediately in front of that. Then your normal station-entrance signal block, and a pre-signal at ever slip where trains are waiting to enter the station. It looks somewhat uglier and takes an extra space of track, but it makes sure no trains try to go out the entrance when there's some hold-up at the exit.
