[Dedicated Server] Auto Save change

Post by Mr_Dark »

Hi,

I'm running a dedicated OpenTTC server but the autosave is every month how to I change it so the server saves it every year (12 months).
I tried to change the autosave variable in the cfg file but it didn't work.

LOad the game as a client. change the autosave in-game to 12 months, and then exit the game. It should work. Just did for me.

I did but it's still on 1 month..

I'm running OpenTTD on my server so it's alway's on-line. So I run OpenTTD on my own computer set it all up close it and copy the openttd.cfg file to my server.

If a new month begins the game freezes for about 8~10 sec (i thought it was becuas the server was saving) does someone know what the problem could be?

That means that you have a slow hard drive... Well slow enough to notice the game being saved, which with big maps takes a while. Currently a few things are being tested so that the game will be saved in the background.
No longer active here, but you can still reach me via email: luca[at]stackednotion[dot]com

But if the autosave is every year why do I have the "lag" every month ??

Well, sorry, but if you don't give more information we could only start guessing...

So please give us more information.
Here's some lines taken from lucaspiller's signature (about reporting bugs):
- Game version (i.e. a release: 0.4.0 or an SVN revision: r2357)
- How reproducable the bug is, and if it is reproducable the steps to reproduce it
- And additional information, for example your operating system
- If possible please please please include a savegame
- Also make sure you include your openttd.cfg

these might help us to help you.

Newest is not a version number.
Start up OpenTTD, you should see something that looks like this (see below).
What's the text inside the red oval say on your version?
Mr_Dark wrote:- Don't understand the question (english is not that good Razz, sorry)
How often does this happen? What, if anything, do you do to make it happen, or to make it happen more/less often?

Please post a savegame. (There's an "Add an Attachment" button below the posting space for the purpose of posting files)

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.
