Complicated rail system screenshot

Post by Mike Wagstaff »

Hi everyone,

I have a screenshot of a highly complicated rail system -
it's my version of South London's railway network. The pic is
69KB zipped - are there any sites or persons interested?

I have a screenshot of a highly complicated rail system
And for anyone interested, I thought I might as well make
it available to all. You can grab it at:

http://ds.dial.pipex.com/town/plaza/aj9 ... p/scr2.zip

Feel free to post it on any sites or whatever. And, yes,
it's complicated! Admittedly there aren't too many trains in
view, but that's because not everything is fully set up just
yet - and besides, how can you resist the chance to see 19
tracks running in parallel at one point?! (I might enter that
"Most Complicated game" competition if I get around to
completing the network). Comments welcome!

Yes, I would like this please. Could you send me the save game as well if
you have it. I'd like to learn some signalling combinations.

Thanks,

Eddie, Peter and anyone else:

As I said in my earlier post, I've already uploaded the
screenshot. You can now grab the savegame at:

http://ds.dial.pipex.com/town/plaza/aj9 ... /trt00.zip

There are a few problems (eg. old trains), but the network as
a whole should work without too many hitches!

As Fluff Freeman would say, not 'arf <g>

And if you've got the scenario which you used to create the network, I'd
kill for it!

It's my neck of the woods (or it was before I fled the country!)

To prevent any murders taking place, I've now put the
scenario up on the web. You can get it at:

http://ds.dial.pipex.com/town/plaza/aj9 ... /trt05.zip

It's basically the same SE England scenario that I gave to a
couple of people a few days back (if anyone put it on their
site, obviously feel free to update it if you feel like it).
There's a couple of changes here and there, but nothing
major. Basically, the scenario is designed to encourage a
massive rail network - just the way I like it!

Gulp!
Wimp! :-)
Why do you need all those tracks?? It's impossible that those
small towns would generate that much traffic...!
Small towns? At the moment, the combined total population of
the four cities that I used to make up London (not so small
in the real world!) is over 10,000. The terminals can get
very congested with trains converging on them from all parts
of the map, so I do need that amount of tracks. Further away
from London, as the lines diverge, the number of parallel
tracks tends to decrease.

I've uploaded my current savegame (2024, 91 trains) if you
want a look. A few notes: I've stuck with rail because I
prefer it to monorail/maglev, and I haven't been bothered to
update some of the older trains because I play with
breakdowns off (otherwise things might go horribly wrong the
way I play the game!). You can download it at:
http://ds.dial.pipex.com/town/plaza/aj9 ... rt00-2.zip

If you want to see it in full glory, remember to enable
presignals using Josef's patch, otherwise it'll be worse
than Connex on a bad day!

Any chance of you uploading the scenario, or emailing it to me, as I'd
like to have a go from scratch for myself.

Pretty Please?

I think I already did! Try:

That should be the scenario. If it's not, complain loudly!

Since it is, instead of complaining loudly, I shall simply say

Thank you
Mil gracias
Merci beaucoup

loudly.
