TT Multiplayer option

Post by Ellis Feaster »

Is it actually possible to play this game over the internet? I've had it
over 4 years, and still don't know if it's possible, or how to do it!

Probably not. You could try Kali at http://www.kali.net/ but I doubt it
would be compatible. It can't hurt to try it, but what with TTD's very
fragile networking system, I doubt any useful game could come of it even
if it works.

Maybe... I tried it today at my school's ADP

club, but didn't succeed. I tried Kali, because

it can emulate the protocol what TTDX uses (IPX)

but it didn't have support for it. :(

Yes, that's possible, but the maximum speed is only 19200 bps...
I tried it once with my friend but it was tooooooo slow for us to
with the rates of the local telephony company (Lännen Puhelin).

Even if it were possible, it woundn't be a good idea considering the
duration of a TT game.
But if your human opponent lives near you, you may play directly over a
modem connection.
(is there lucky one not paying their local area phone call?).

That's sure!
I suppose that's why there is an auto-save option.

Modem game are only available on TTDLX.
If you are using TTO, you need to buy the World Editor.
