Mr Drexler / Webrings

Post by Trikky »

Hi all

First off, I need to get in touch with Mr Drexler but I have lost his E-mail
address. Anybody got it!?

ALSO...I constructing a TT webpage and I was thinking about adding it to a
webring but after seeing all the different one out there I was wondering if
you lot had a preference.

Mr Drexler (aka, Josef!) webpage is http://publish.uwo.ca/~jdrexler/
From there, I noted his email to be jdrex...@julian.uwo.ca

Also note Edwards posts about setting up a Tycoon website - it would be
better to work together on this, rather than set up two different ones......

Thanks for the info. I put Mr Drexler cos I couldn't remember how to spell
his first name, and rather than get it wrong - blah! blah! blah!

Yes, but then you get all the arguments about differences in opinion and
such like.

However. If Edward dosen't mind we could 'Pin' our pages together (Or make a
new ring?)
So that, oh I don't know, he does the comps and I have the files?
We could work it out between us so as there is no war.

But then I'm only really constructing it so that I could use it for my
portfolio (And to stop me getting bored!)

Trikky has offered to help, and this is gladly noted but you are right
Chris,
"many hands make light work" or should that be mice, keyboards, Frontpages,
notepads etc :-)
If we pooled all our info and expertise, then it would be even better.

On Sunday, check http://www.ttworld.itgo.com and although it may just be under
construction signs, the revolution is under way...

Chris, are you going to be assisting us? Or are you going to carry on with
your site?

I like the idea of one good Tycoon site, rather than small ones.
Its easier when "newbies" come to this newsgroup (and we seem to be
collecting some great new people recently!!) to tell them to go to one great
big Tycoon site, rather than go here for this, there for that, etc, etc....

...just a thought.

Anything I can do, I'd gladly offer to help.

Yes, but then you get all the arguments about differences in opinion and

Yeah, but everyone who's involved in the page will decide the layout, and
then we'll leave the content of the strategy pages, etc. up to the
individual writer. Then the 'webmaster' sorts the layout, and uploads it.
However. If Edward dosen't mind we could 'Pin' our pages together (Or make
a
new ring?)
So that, oh I don't know, he does the comps and I have the files?
I suppose we could, but I only go on for a couple of minutes a day, so I
wouldn't be able to maintain it. It would be best to just stick to the
single site.
We could work it out between us so as there is no war.
Thank god for that! If there's one thing I really hate, its flame wars.
But then I'm only really constructing it so that I could use it for my
portfolio (And to stop me getting bored!)
Same here. I haven't got a portfolio, but making websites is a very creative
and exciting thing to do.

Thanks for sending me your site. I've took bits out of it, (especially
graphics,) and I am going to use them. Uploading will commence Sunday at
0800. (as i go on IC24 for free!)

If anyone's interested, I'll be in a Yahoo chat room on Sunday, so chat to
me all you want. This could be a good way to sort out the site design.

Too many cooks spoil the broth. (can anybody spot the pessimist?)
I'l gladly help with anything. But I won't get baggy knees.
If we pooled all our info and expertise, then it would be even better.
It'll be the best.
Never set your sights too low!

I prefer to see a construction sigh than a empty link.

In light of this. Is there a semi-official NG FAQ?
If not It would probably be a good idea to create one.

Oh BTW Who(If anybody) is the moderator/boss here? Or is it self kept?
And if you *DO* have a set of rules it would be a good idea to attach them
to the site.

I love making things difficult don't I?

Hi! I was also thinking of making a TT Website but this seems to be quite an
idea... I've got quite some Experience in HTML and JavaScript, and, of
course am a great fan of TT, allthough I'm not so up to date and only just
found this NG!
So if you're interested in my help with the project, you can count on me!
(only don't ask me for Tips and Tricks ;-)

Not that I've ever seen, but there are Tycoon FAQs.
I'll dig 'em out....

I'll dig 'em out!

No-one moderates, but its not a binary group - you can only post messages
here, and not saved games, scenarios, etc... Thats the only rule!
And if you *DO* have a set of rules it would be a good idea to attach them
I'll dig 'em out. No, hang on, thats wrong.
Oh yes, thats the second rule .... ignore me!!

Thank you for offering. At the moment, I have created the site, but
this is only to get us started. Next week, then I'll be asking for the
help of many people.
We already have Stephen Down who is going to do a strategy guide. But
we now seem to have a huge amount of people wanting to design.
Uh....*thinks*....5 now. I've only sent the alpha design to Ankit
Desai, but if anyone wants a looksee, then email me. Don't reply to
this post by email. Instead, post replies, as if you try to email, the
message will go into the Deja.com balck hole.
In fact, this latest one will be the beta design.

No there isn't as:

a) We're not really big enough yet
b) Who wants to be bogged down with needless bureaucracy
Oh BTW Who(If anybody) is the moderator/boss here? Or is it self kept?
And if you *DO* have a set of rules it would be a good idea to attach
them
to the site.
No one owns it but it appears that Microprose asked someone to create
it. Site???????????? This is a newsgroup. And if you mean the NG, then
we can't post binaries, and if you do, you get a firm telling off by
your ISP. I think I've been subscribed to this NG for about 2 months
now, and I haven't got bored yet, unlike many other groups that I had
joined. How long have the rest of you been here?
That is what i love about here. No rules, no moderating, and you can
speak your mind. And you know what's even better.

Total flames = 0

Move to another group, and it's full of flames, and the topic never gets
debated.

Sorry, getting a bit boring there wasn't I :-)
