[TTD] New version 1.4 of TTDPatch
[TTD] New version 1.4 of TTDPatch
Hi fellow TTDers,
I've just posted an update to TTDPatch on my homepage at
http://publish.uwo.ca/~jdrexler/ttdpatch/
New features include:
- Cheats supported in multiplayer games
- Mammoth trains: up to 126 carriages
- Pre-signals: you never knew how much you needed them until you see them
in action. *Greatly* improves handling of station entrances.
- and lots of other goodies, including a few more sign cheats.
Check it out!
Josef

Re: [TTD] New version 1.4 of TTDPatch
I am having trouble getting the patch to load. I have unzipped it, but when
I try to run the programme, it comes with this message:
Unable to access Transport Tycoon Deluxe CD!
Result: [Error!]
Int 65 restored.
Please can you tell me what I have to do to get this to work properly.
Thanks

Re: [TTD] New version 1.4 of TTDPatch
Just another thought - did you ever run v1.3 of the patch? If not, I can
email it to you to see if that works (to confirm if v1.4 has a problem in
it...)

Re: [TTD] New version 1.4 of TTDPatch
Not meaning to be unhelpful, but it works on mine, so I know the patch
works.
When you normally run TTDX.EXE, do you use the CD?
Copy all files from the CD to your hard disk so you don't need the CD again.
(Its only a couple of Mb...)
Ensure the version of TTDX is compatible with the patch.
If you've any probs, email me or reply to the group.
I'm also on ICQ: 5642551

For example, it might look like
ttdpatch -a D:\
if D: is your CD drive.
If not, that's the problem. If you did, there must be some bug in TTDPatch.
Unfortunately that's one of the areas I can't test myself, because my
version doesn't need the CD.
A workaround might be to install TTD so that it doesn't need the CD, as
shown here: http://i-want-a-website.com/about-tt/ttfaq12.html#12-2

Did you append the name of the CD drive to the TTDPatch command line?On Sat, 31 Jul 1999 11:03:12 +0100, "Richard Berry"

Re: [TTD] New version 1.4 of TTDPatch
Hi Josef & all you other transporters
I bought this game (ttdlx) 3 or 4 years ago, and it is stil the one of the
greatest games
I´ve ever played. It´s been about a year since i last played it, and then
three days ago on my way home from work (I travel about 2 hours each way by
train) i just finished a scene in another classic Historyline1914-1918on my
portable. I lit a smoke, and just looked out the windows on woods, fields and
villages pasing by. And you know just felt that need to go home and reinstall
ttdlx.
I got home, startet ttdlx and were in heaven again.
Well about two days later i got that annoying message about vehicles limit.
I went on the www, and yiiiihaaaaa i found your great patch.
BUT ohhhh disaster, nothing happends.
I have followed the instruction, i get no errors, everthing works fine, but no
cheats, no station expanding no nothing.
I´ve atached a snapshot of the startup (had to very fast), to tell the
version number.
By the way i got:
P166 mmx
64 mb ramm
soundblaster
And no problems at all running the game.

Re: [TTD] New version 1.4 of TTDPatch
Have you started a new game from scratch? And you're sure you're running
TTDPatch.exe ? (And not the original shortcut to the game)
Please dont' think I'm being patronising asking these questions - just
trying to make sure.
The quickest way to test the "patch" is to put down a sign, and change it to
read "cht: year 2040" and see what happens. If nothing, then something is
wrong - let me know - I'll try n help.
If the game goes to 2040, the patch is working, and it may not like the
original game.
But let me know. I know the patch works, as I've run it no probs.

everybody.
I could certainly use a relay station in alt.games.microprose.transport-tyc,
which I don't get here.
Maybe that would be an alternative if the pints don't work out
