Still there are more troubles concerning the wood&paper industry, the stake wagon in the Alpine shows logs instead of paper.

P.S. I wonder why not make Alpine set for the Arctic climate on purpose, what will be the sake of having two different types of snow-covered maps?

Well, eventually alpine climate will be a variant of temperate, i.e. it´ll use temperate´s industries and cargoes. And in addition it´ll have its own style of buildings (alpine, o/c).

It´s based on arctic climate only transitionally, because the patch still needs more work to implement alpine climate into temperate.

Yeah. Fortunately enough I didn´t upload the bug-fix. Are there any more inconsistencies with arctic products?

It's a really amazing set.
Thanks for all that work, I can't believe you still have time to play TTDpatch. :D

I still do have a request though.
I noticed the void station you supplied with version 0.4, and I would like anather void station: a station with no tracks but with the footpath from the signalboxes.

I do make sometimes setups like in the next picture, and it looks a bit odd with the unused tracks in the middle.

Maybe for these part, some old rusty, overgrown rails would be nice, or?

Well, the US stations set has abandoned stations, which appear if the station rating gets too low, but we didn't make the rails also look unmaintained. That would be a possibility though.

It looks great, but I like to play games all the way through, and it takes me a long time to do it, so I think I'll wait for the full release version, or at least an interim one that won't make a complete upheaval on upgrading.

I'm having a lot of fun with my Alpine Climate game. Brilliant work Michael, as always. You put a poor station coder like me to shame.

Yes, the stations are awesome. I love the variety of buildings. Maybe eventually we will have that kind of variety in the US set...

even better is the fact that both freight stations and large buildings are coming up. awesome!

now mr. Blunck, i know you probably find it very annoying when people start asking you loads of questions, but i have one. does the fact that you are now a member of the forum mean that we'll get some updates about progress on the various projects? not that i'm not content now, but it would be something worth thinking about, right? :) everybody here's a huge fan of your work and it would be pretty awesome.

I think he's been asked that before, like Patchman, and as I recall, the answer is that progress is too unpredictable - it depends on how much free time he has, Patch development, and other things. It's not really possible to put a schedule on it. When it's done, it's done. It's the same way with my sets - you think you're almost done, then someone essential disappears for a while and you're stalled until they get back, or you discover something that HAS to be done which you'd overlooked before.

Say, I'm having the same problem gimli had, with the glass roofs appearing as black only. I tried resetting the graphics, figuring that would fix it - but it didn't. How odd. Anyone else have the same trouble?

Turn off the "new bridges" graphics. They use a sprite that the new stations uses for transparency. I guess Michael needs to find another sprite that's unused...

Aha, so it is a bug. Well, that's OK, I'm sure there'll be a fixed version out fairly soon.

First of all, let me thank you for the many positive statements about the new version of NewStations and my work in general. I appreciate your words and I´m glad that you like my work just as I do. 8)

Aha, so it is a bug.
No, it´s not a bug. As Josef writes, NewsStations 0.4 uses toyland sprite #1213h intentionally. OTOH, newbridges.grf uses that sprite as well.

BTW, earlier versions of NewStations had used the sprite range 1213h-121D before, then for its waypoint ground tiles. This had been changed in v0.3, though. I don´t know the release date of "newbridges.grf" but NewStations v0.2 of August 16th, 2004 did already use that same sprite.

The problem with newbridge.grf is that it uses almost all toyland sprites available, leaving only very few at the upper end of the sprite range for other .grfs.

In fact, making uncoordinated use of toyland sprites is a problem in general.

ATM, I don´t know if it´d better to use a different toyland sprite (possibly occupied again by another foreign .grf) or to disable NewStations if newbridge.grf is loaded.

Josef and me already discussed that problem on IRC, he seems to have a possible way to fix it. My bridge graphic uses the upper part Michael mentioned... :?
