I have played the US set quite a bit, as you might imagine, and I have never had this problem. For sure, the start of the game is harder, as it was intended to be. It takes much longer before you're so rich that you can do anything. And I play with freighttrains 5 and wagon speed limits. It was supposed to be challenging, and it is, but I don't find it even THAT challenging.

Well, here's another Ruslan.

The N/S vertical stabilizers(? the vertical parts) have problems; they really want to be 2 px wide, but doing that puts them off center.

To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Still needs more variation with the shading. It's not that the whole thing needed to be darker, it needed to be more different.

sorry for not being around for a while, been a bit busy.

The Ruslan is improving step by step, but perhaps it would be easier to determine what is needed if the wings were shaded rather than flat? Also, the vertical North to South views seem to be very squashed.

The problem with making prices higher is with the prop planes. Even now they have been given such prices that make them even somewhat useful. The jets are another thing though but the biggest problem IMO is still the insufficient TTD/TTDPatch adjustment range of running cost. Operating the planes is dirt cheap.

There's a hack for that, which we used for the US trains. PM Oracle to ask how it works.

You can't use the running cost base hack with planes: it only works with trains until Josef gives you the option of changing the running cost base . The option simply doesn't exist for planes.

kinda in a rush, so sorry if this has been said before.
I'm using the latest patch (42a) and the latest planeset release and if I use full load with zeppelins they just won't stop loading mail. Currently I have one with 3256 bags of mail.
This usually wouldn't be a problem- I never use full load anyway, but the AI just doesn't see the problem. Of course, not many people play with the AI these days, but just to let you know.

Here is two shots so you can see.

Wierd. Any ideas, 459?

BTW, it would be very helpful if you could change the plane names to include the following code after each one:

(H) - Helicopter - you can use it on helipads
(S) - Small - you can land it safely at small airports
(L) - Large - you can only land it safely at large airports

Since we have smaller planes all the way through, it's hard to tell them apart, and there are many situations where you don't have room for a big airport, and a small airport serving 727s will do just fine.

I don't know if I have the most recent version. Where was it posted?

I've been playing with the set, and discovered that the Zeps need to unload and load more slowly. The 747 takes quite a while to unload and load, which is good; the Zep should do the same. Probably likewise with the larger planes.

The Zeppelin load speed and plane names with type suffix are not a problem. I'll do something for them to the next version.

Running costs modification... could be worth trying.

The loading bug... I can't tell if there's a problem with Planeset. Somebody was complaining about it once but I remember it probably had something to do with outdated TTDPatch version. I haven't done any AI testing for Planeset - AI tends to build their airports in such places that during the many years of TTD I've played I've seen AI airlink considered profitable once.

It happens to me, and I have a42. It's got nothing to do with the AI in particular, it's just that the Zeps have infinite mail capacity. This isn't a problem with human players, since nobody uses full-load orders on a plane, but the AI does and that causes problems. Fix the loading problem, and the AI problem will go away.

Well anyway 459, you know how to test for it - just do full-load on a plane and see what happens to the mail.
