TTDPatch frees the slaves! (Idea Included)
Thanks to Patchman for the TTDPatch. I've been working through my first game with it, really enjoying the benifits. I'd figured that I would hand-replace my track when monos came in, but then I gave in and used the patch. Magificent.
However, the real benifit came later, when I had 150 vehicles running about. I'm a hands-on guy - I love to do-it-myself, especially when it comes to replacements. I sorta thought of it as a "natural restriction" to company size. As I got bigger, I would be more restricted in my actions, due to the time spent replacing vehicles as the got old. Riiiight. Actually, I spent two hours sending them to depots, dropping them in cans, picking their replacements, etc, etc. I'd get one fleet out and a new one would get old. Think about it - 150 vehicles, at 6 or so per route, is 25 routes. With a 15 year turn around, I'd be replacing groups every 9 months or so.
Anyway, after an hour of that, I just saved the game and activated the autoreplace option. What a breeze it is now. Now I can spend time running my organziation and monitoring conditions. Thanks, Patchman!
One thought that came up while wriiting this - how about an option to make vehical replacement (and track replacement) an actual game option?
Lets say that if you can purchase specific COMPANY IMPROVEMENTS (by clicking on your HQ - hey, a use for that building!). You could purchase "Patch options", which would just activate things. For example...
Management Team = allows autoreplacement
Computer = allows presignals
CB Radios = allows trucks to stage in lines and not wander about.
Engineering Firm = Allows track replacement option
Lobbyist = Permits bribes.
Each of these could cost, say, a million bucks. And each would turn otions on in the game.
I think it would add a lot of color to do this.

Great that you liked the autorenewal and track conversion, i use them always because you can concentrate on the building of your network
But getting a new menu in the game ???? If it was easy then he would have done it by now i think
Perhaps these patch switches do a lot of work before you start the game and it's therefore impossible to do it during a game
But it would be a great idea to add the switches into the menus so you could choose them instead of using sign cheats or playing wth notepad or some external program

Why not ? because i said it probably isn't possible ?Big Mad Tony wrote:It might be possible. After all, the 'Bribe Local Authority' shows up. But my opinion doesn't count.
Indeed , they added an option to that menu, but it was do-able because there was a scroll option already available, and i think it's because of that
