Greetings
I'm a TT fan from the old dos version days, and I would really like to be able to play it again.
Actually I am newbie Linux user and transport tycoon would be a great test of Linux gaming possibilities!
The problem is that I can't manage to install it!
I'm using Mandrake 10 official edition and I have TT Deluxe for windows.
When I try to install OpenTT, it say I haven't SDL compiler and it can't detect SDL-config, SDL11-config and SDL12-config or something like that.
I searched for this in the distributions packages available (installed and in the CD) and I can't find anything but LibSDL-1.2.7..... which I already have installed.
What precisely do I have to do to install OpenTTD? What packages do I need and where to get them for my distribution?
This could also be the oportunity to make an installation tutorial for Linux!
Thanks and bye

Re: HELP - Can't install in Linux!
There is a very straight-forward How-To, written especially for Mandrake 10 but also working on other Linuxes. I'll leave the job to find this How-To up to you though. Hint: It's called Readme_Mandrake_Linux.txtchocobanana wrote:This could also be the oportunity to make an installation tutorial for Linux!

I checked that link and downloaded all the packages needed.
But the page was about compiling and developing. Is that equal to installing the game just for playing?
Because if it is, I managed to successfully install it with just this package:
"libsdl1.2-devel-1.2.7-2mdk"
What are the other packages for?
Anyway, what counts is that I managed to install it!

The other packages are not manditory. libPNG is to enable screenshots in PNG format. Without it you only have BMP or PCX screenshots. zlib compresses your savegames, they won't take as much space on your harddisk.
