You mean OpenTTD?
I don't like that project. I don't want to disrespect any of the developers, but while with OpenTTD you may be able to change a lot more then with the patch, it's still TTD. You're still stuck in the clumsy TTD world, and it is hardly innovative. I want something new. Like TE.
Besides I can do everything I want with the patch, and everything that's still being developed is a nice bonus, I'm simply not waiting for TTD++.

I am. Of course, at the moment TTDPatch has more features, but there will be a point where OpenTTD catches up and from then on OpenTTD willl be much better. The only reason for this is the simplicity of the implementation of new features.

I'll probably be sticking with the Patch. The OTTD devs are concentrating too much on putting more and more new features in, and not enough on actually fixing the game's old problems, and finishing the features they're implementing already. As nice as new things are, the creeping featurism they practise right now is just a little too much too soon. ;)

ATM OTTD seems a lot more complicated to use than the patch. So, I say the patch.

TTDPatch because the US Set won't work with OpenTTD :P (not at the moment at least).

Depends who you ask. ;) For playing, I currently play TTDPatch, mainly because I have a game running with the DB set which can't be used in OpenTTD. Also, as OpenTTD is still in development state, things may change and it's not 100% stable. But OpenTTD is improving fast, and it won't be that long before it's better, feature-wise, than TTD+TTDPatch.

Since the patch is i386 ASM, I can't use it, so I use OpenTTD
Besides OpenTTD have become pretty stable by now

I don't get why you hate it so much. It's nothing like the replies I have got elsewhere

And I certainly don't get BobXP about OpenTTD are complicated compared to the patch. OpenTTD got an ingame patch menu. The only times you need to alter a text file or use the CLI are if you use a new experimental feature, that haven't got a GUI in the game yet
The most important are multiplayer, which at the moment only needs a GUI to be done, and it supports more than 2 players ;)

Support for custom grf sets are planned and may not be far into the future

OpenTTD, as it runs on BeOS. And has audio on my soundcard, which TTD (any version) under DOS doesn't.

The patch, since I love being able to play in high resolutions and I don't use Windows. ;)

I don't hate OpenTTD at all, I have total respect for it and its programmers. I'm simply waiting for it to catch up with the Patch, and have full compatibility with all existing GRF packages. When it does, I'll switch over to OpenTTD to get the ability to use different resolutions. Until then, I use only the Patch. So, for now, it's no contest: I vote for the Patch. I'm confident this will change someday, but I've got no idea when.

Halanegri, that would be OpenTTD then :). The Patch doesn't work on non-windows, and is only 1 resolution.

I voted for OpenTTD. Just love it :D

Just give me TTDPatch at the moment... I love to play old style in Windows XP (win2k switch only)... And ofcourse the new graphics...

OpenTTD looks very promising. Let's hope it will reach a 100% status soon...

Both are excellent, however TTD original doesn't run properly on my PC, even with the patch, so I'm only playing OpenTTD at the moment.

You need to use the Windows version of TTD, I bet.

I have the Windows version and it will load with the patch, but the screen has little lines/speckles across it - not sure if it's an issue with my graphics card (R9600) or something else.

Occasionally use OTTD and i like it. However it is still not quite there yet and a little slow. :(
Personally i imagine parallel developements for some time and then perhaps some form of collaboration.
I have noticed many new members have emerged with OTTD, and this is great too. :D
