Graphics without .nfo files [needs coders!]

Post by Purno »

I've drawn some graphics nobody asked for but I thought that maybe someone could use them. The graphics are not in .grf format, so .nfo files need to be made.

1. I've drawn German sign-posts (I thought they looked like I made them, but I'm not sure)
Anyone likes them? Can anyone use them for any graphics set?

2. I've drawn zebras for 'in-city-roads'. I've made one without a flasing light and one with a flashing light. I don't know if anyone likes them and if anyone can use them.

3. I've drawn flashing ligts for road works. I thought it would be fun having some more 'animation' in TTD.

The person being me thought about adding zebra's to his European Roadset. Problem would be your innercity roads wil become very bright because of all the white. You did a nice job though (but sofar I don't think I'll use them). I do very much like the flashing lights at the road construction. Can I add them to a new release of my European Roadset?

Yeah, why not? I do like my graphics to be in TTD and I can't import myself because I can't handle .nfo files, and I would love to see the result.

If it's possible for the zebras to not appear on every single street, but randomly, then that would be fine.

Yes, all of them :)
Unfortunately I haven't had time to play with ttd for a few months now...but judging from the time I spend on the forums, I just as well could've. I think I'll wait for a swift release of the European roadset, cause my nfo skills are far below par :(

They (all *g*) look great!

The sign posts would be more realistic if the signs had an arrow-shape:

Code: Select all

 _____
/ |
\_____|
And one of them could be blue or white. Yellow signs are used for towns, white for places (Airport, Downtown, ...), and blue for highways.

Another picture of a german "Zebrastreifen":

But mostly the upper sign is replaced by one or two big yellow flashing lights.

1. About the German Sign-Posts: I don't know if anyone is planned using them but I will adjust them anyway.

2. About the Zebra: It wasn't specific ment as a German zebra but maybe I will also change de zebra into a German one (the original remains of course)

3. Thanks for your enthousiasm, it makes me want to draw more

EDIT: 4. Again about the German Sign-Posts: I could make more combinations of yellow, blue and white signs. Would it be possible to let TTD/TTD Patch select them randomly, then not every crossing has the same sign-posts?

about the german sign posts, both shapes are possible (the 1st one is a little bit more common):

Huh? I think there's something wrong in what you said, but I can't figure out what, and what you mean.

Some said the liked the <==] sign-posts so I made some (and in different colors). I've made different sign-posts for different 'environments' of the roads. I've made a table (look below). As you can see each kind of road (each sprites) has 2 sign-posts. Would it be possible to randomize them?

Can anyone use them, because I can't make .nfo-files?

Saskia kind of 'asked' for a German zebra, so I made one. Hopefully it's good and some can use it.

Very good, but one small point: how about "writing" something on the signs? A few black dots should work.
