cant seem to update

it seems im stuck running 1.69

im on the DOS version.

any ideas? i've tried downloading from site and clicking Update from within the patch thing.

what are you talking about ? TTDX Configurator ? or TTDPatch ?

if about TTDPatch then I suggest to install pure TTD again and then get newest Patch from http://www.ttdpatch.net

The live update function may have been broken between 1.69 and 1.93 (current).

You need to download the lastest alpha of the patch to be able to use those switches.
