Urban Renew, beta 3 [33% done]

Post by Andrex »

I'm working on a completely different Urban Renew set. Despite I converted most window colors to the TTD style from the beta 1 set, I may release it as a beta 2 version, because this beta 3 will replace most buildings, even those from the beta 1 set.

In other words:

UR beta 1: actual one
UR beta 2: actual one, with fixes and TTD colours [done, not to be released yet]
UR beta 3: under development

The beta 3 set features a new style, while respecting the TTD colour style. I am not posting screenshots yet, instead I'll post some important keywords.

Keywords:
Maxis, Convert to Paletted, Color replace, PrintScreen

Since it seems to be a major lack of interest in this project, here's one building: the bank. Let's see if someone recognizes it, but I doubt that very much.

Whoa, if all the other buildings will look this good, noone will want the original TTD stuff anymore... ;)

Wow... that looks really cool! Is it fully compatible with TTD's palette?!?

lol... nope, but the buildings style is very much like our colonial buildings in Buenos Aires.

They're imported from SimCity and converted into the TTD Palette? :P
Although, if you're drawing them by hand, they're friggin amazing!
well, they are anyway, but :P

Those buildings are really slick I have to say. They'd go well with the DBset.

I'm wanting to include appropriate buildings in the USset and Japanset, eventually.

Another screenshot.
Most buildings here still need a lot of work. I will start improving them as soon as I have replaced all.

Buildings with an X are to be replaced. Notice part of the new transmitter at the top left, it took an entire day of work. :!:

Additionally, construction stages will be created at the end.

Hmm. A bit of an eclectic mix I must say. Do the building styles change over time?

You're transmitter looks very nice. But for the surrounding barrier, instead of a stone wall, could I suggest a chain link fence? I think it would be more realistic and better looking. (not to mention possibly hard to draw??)
