Macros for TTD

Post by Nem »

Hi, this is my first post in this group and I hope you enjoy it.

:?: Is it possible to have macros in TTD Patch? that could be very useful to build complex structure in one click. For example: 4-ways cross, Ro-Ro station,...
Besides the macros can be stored in files and exchanged between players.

The next example may explain better my idea

1) The player found a suitable area for his structure, and, using the mouse an some hotkey, start the macro.
2) The TTDPatch,if possible, will buy the essential terrain for the player.
3) The TTDPatch will check if each terrain square has the proper shape (for example all flat land) in order to start the building.
4) The TTDParch will strarts building the structure using the construction tools.

That all.

Benvenuto :) :) :)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Wellcome :) :) :)

It isn't (now?) possible make macros, however I prefer build junctions by hand.

The only macro we need is a system to save orders.

But, the best thing, will be rewrite TTD...

Maybe it could be difficult; what I meaning was only a sequence of command given by the TTDPatch instead of the player.

However, impossible or not, seems that I'm the only who thinks that could be a good improvement of the gameplay.

Kinda like saving a track in RCT but then for TTD :)

I like it

But I don't think the engine would allow it... unless you do some TOTAL MAKEOVER work and build an external editor or something like that...

Hey, I'm Italian too (sort of). My parents are Italian, I was born in Australia and lived most of my life there, but I now live in Canada. Does that mean I get 3 votes?
It's funny, but this is the first forum I have ever been to, where Americans/Canadians don't make up the majority. In fact, I don't think I've seen more than a handful here... but then again, I guess the most important person in TTDX land lives here in Canada (keep up the great work Josef). 8)

It would be great if you could get something like that working. But I don't think it would be possible.

Actually the most important person in TTDdom (...?) is Chris awyer. What nationality is he, anyway? This is the first English forum I've been where most people aren't North American also (what a run-on :roll:...)

He lives in Scotland. I don't actually know if he's Scottish or English (or Welsh or Irish even), but he lives in Scotland (I have his postal address actually - I won't post it here, for obvious reasons, but if you know how, it's fairly easy to find out - don't know if it actually works though!)
